    The BMX crankset uses the same BB shell as a one piece crankset, which came on the frame originally. This BMX crankset actually uses sealed bearings in a 1 peice shell.

    Rene Herse came out with this 5x crankset. In the mid 90s, a company called Mountain Tamers made a kit to convert a normal MTB crankset to a 5x.
