Marin Lombard 1 - My first road bike.

That’s great that you have room for wider tires. I come across a lot of really nice ‘older’ road bikes that were designed for 700x23 tires and there isn’t much room to go wider.

My guess is the crank is bent. It reminds me of a fork with a bent steerer tube.

    1950 Craigslist Schwinn

That a cool start to a nice klunker or cruiser. Is it the deal of a lifetime? Nope. But if you want it maybe go for it. I would love to have it.

    ** The next build off 2024 **

I don’t really know what I have here, but I am considering it this for the step thru class. I bought it for the head lights.

    Coasterbrake hub builds

I use high temp grease on the brake shoes. But I am certainly not an expert. Probably learned that on YouTube.

What happened to the “bike man for you”? I learned a lot of the basics watching his videos. They are great!

That is awesome! I love the skateboard wheel chain tensioner.

Had a little run-in the other day

That is incredibly scary. I am glad you are OK.

I have done this a few times. My method is to put a spare hub in the dropouts to keep the spacing intact. Then I position the frame with the head tube on the floor and the dropouts propped up on the bottom shelf of my workbench. (Anything stable will do). Then gently and very gently step...

    Cruiser bike newbie

This is the best deal I have found for a 3 speed wheelset with coaster. I bought this package once to do exactly what you are thinking about. Pretty good deal. Not the highest quality rim, but fine for a casual cruiser. https://xdsbikeco.com/products/firmstrong-3-speed-cruiser-bike-rim...

    Are those u-brakes? Interesting

However, I think the freewheel spacer is much easier to try first.

My thought (which might be a little optimistic) is to move the spacing to the non-drive side. This would push the hub to the drive side. Then re-dish the wheel to center the rim. Also, looks like you have a flip flop hub. Is it centered? Have you tried flipping it?

Oh interesting. I was thinking the other way around. Push the hub to right and then dish the rim left. But your idea might work as well. Hmm…. I like this problem.

Another half baked thought. What if you adjusted the washers on the hub, to move the hub towards the drive side. Then dished the wheel to recenter the rim. I haven’t completely thought this through, but seems like it could maybe have a possibility of sort of working.

    How about a freewheel spacer?

    All Forked Up

Something like this. I think I have seen them even less expensive. Just search around for 1in x 24tpi die. You also need the handle to put it in.

    Schwinn American

I want a pair of those something bad! What are they called?
