Fuji Suncerest complete with Shimano Deerhead. I have been working on this beside my Build-Off bike. I am loving this one.

This is looking great! I cannot wait to see it all put together. Fascinating!

    All Forked Up

The problem with putting spacers below the crown race, is the OD of the steerer tube has an extra couple of mm where the crown race sits. You would somehow have to accommodate for that. Likely possible if you have a lathe, but seems much more complicated than adding threads. I found a...

Thanks guys. Wildcat, I have picked up bits of your life history here. What an interesting life!

Yes. I recently got an inexpensive tool to thread steerer tubes. Works great.

    TRADITIONAL Raleigh-Up

I have been struggling to get good pictures of this bike. I had the nice DSLR camera out today but couldn’t find a good background for the black frame. On my way home I snapped these with my iPhone in front of this yellow garage. I think the yellow is a nice background. I still want...

Truing wheels can be relaxing if you have a relaxed attitude towards it. It can either be art or science. You can literally do it by feel or by measurement. Either way with a crusty old wheel I would start by putting a drop of light and/or penetrating oil on each nipple. I also like...

That is such a cool frame! The headbadge alone makes it. I would buy that bike in a second. I like how you left it ratty. If it was mine, the only thing I would work on is the tire rubbing on the fender. But then again, maybe that adds to the character. I live in a fairly flat town...

Anyone fit a 1 inch steerer tube to a Cycletruck?

7/8in stem is pretty standard. You are probably fine, unless you have some unusual parts. Either way it sounds like a cool project. Post some pictures when you get a chance.

Anyone fit a 1 inch steerer tube to a Cycletruck?

A 7/8 in stem goes in a 1in steerer tube. You were likely measuring the stem. https://www.sheldonbrown.com/cribsheet-headsets.html

Super cool bike. I love the quirkiness of the old English bikes. Makes things challenging! Is that a fence built out of old bike frames?

Love it. I’m a big fan of single speed varsity’s.

I have never used that style hub, but have run into a few situations where the inner cable has ferrules in both ends making it impossible to replace the outer cable. My current build off bike has that issue with the brakes. I believe the Shimano positron also has that issue.
