What fork/shocks to look for for a 49' DX Klunker project and other thoughts for a newb

Mine doesn't really move, and it's best if it doesn't. When it moves it would slowly destroy both bracket and the surface of the fork and eventually fail. Have you tried adding spacers and spreading the fork legs a bit?

26" Wheel with nexus 3 spd drum brake hub

Someone who buys it is going to have an awesome deal. I've paid 120$ for a wheel like that without a shifter and a brake lately.

    Huffmaster

Would look cool with some large front sprocket!

    New Schtandart for my brother

Well, at least you didn't roll your own fenders! :D Where did you source them from? I may be looking for something similar for one of my future projects. I like it with struts, but i believe some more twist won't harm. The angle at which the struts are rolled currently doesn't stay harmonic with...

26" Wheel with nexus 3 spd drum brake hub

Man, what you got here is a Nuvinci CVT with roller brake on it. A sweet piece of tech!

I'm sure our friend here didn't mean it the bad way but the encouraging way ;)

What fork/shocks to look for for a 49' DX Klunker project and other thoughts for a newb

Did the same on my Schwinn Heavy Duti build a couple years ago.

    Project "Firebolt" life after BO

Hello everyone, wish you guys happy new year! Another year of working on this project :D I am paying it my time and attention, but unfortunately it doesn't go all that fast. And the fact there are problems appearing along the way doesn't help :) First thing is i've put the rear wheel properly...

    Let's Talk About Snow Bikes

Guys from the Rastabike club (Moscow) built a few bikes to drag-race on ice! They took part in the event called "Baikal Mile" in 2020 along with cars and motorcycles, where they raced on the frozen surface of the lake Baikal in Russia. Here are some of the pictures, but you can easily find more...

Boardtracker / Antique motorcycle style bicycle build

Thanks! I didn't took a look at bikestoremember for a while! Didn't find any bendix hubs there though. But Nostalgie Oirshot is a complete surprise for me, thanks for showing it! So the prices are in a range about 30 - 40 euros for a rim depending on condition. Pretty okay considering there is...

Boardtracker / Antique motorcycle style bicycle build

Good stuff! That double drum of your friend is a killer! Such a bright idea! Actually i was researching Marktplaats lately, looking for such rims as you run with my electric Firebolt build in mind, but i had no luck. How much would they cost normally and where do you source them? Some local bike...

20" Springer Fork Issue. Please Help.

You'd have to fabricate it. I gave it a quick search, since i am sure i saw the isntruction somewhere here on this forum, but didn't find it. I'd take a closer look and post you a link. I remember someone did it at the build off on the bike that was blue :D But unfortunately that's just not...

20" Springer Fork Issue. Please Help.

Distance between top and mid holes on the leg is what matters. If you have already bought the fork you can try to get away with the adapter plates to raise the leg up to the level of the crown.

Nice pedal car restoration video from Russia. Lots of chemistry tips inside!

I was recommended to watch this by some friends and man, didn't regret it for a second. Very well done production-wise and also rich for some craftsmanship tips.

    Nirve forty nine build

Cool build! The grill ornament fits the build really well. And of course the nipples do the job!

    Dyno Bike History?

Sold my restored blue Dyno-Matic for about 400 euros two years ago. If yours is in perfect condition it possibly could sell higher. If we are talking about neglected and partly destroyed bikes - you can find one in Germany for as low as 100 euros sometimes. But here i am talking EU prices, i...
