Found a replacement wheel online and picked it up this morning. This will have to do for a while until I have the time to swap the rims...
Next weekend I'll put it on...
Today it even got worse. The break anchor bent even more and the brake completely blocked...
Looks like I need to rebuild the rear wheel with another hub. I think I have one in a spare 26' wheel, but no spokes on stock and no time to get at it... 🤬
Next week I'm not in Berlin and in two weeks...
Momentary workshop status: Pile of parts in the garden shed with some tools (15 min walk, 7 by bike, one way), screws and races in the basement (5 stories down), big parts stash on the campground (2h roundtrip by car)... :headbang:
And another little update: I finally got the perfect bell for the many upcoming protest rides: a storm bell (or continuous bell). I had mounted it already on the fly on Saturday but quickly realized that I needed to tweak it a little.
To mount it securely I countered all the fixing screws (tip...
We even made it into the news and you can see me (or better my flag and the orange helmet) passing by the camera...

I just cleaned up after a fruitful Sunday...
Lots of black currant, red currant and mixed red and white currant marmelade.
Rest of the currant and the goose berries are due next weekend...
A great build you have going here! :thumbsup:Building a sidecar was (and still is) always a big dream of mine. But with no welder at my disposal it's challenging at best.
The vibe you're aiming for would probably perfectly fit in to this Berlin event...
Probably gonna keep this one for the Autumn BO... I won't be able to finish it until the deadline anyway like I have it in mind, so no need to stress and hurry. Better keep collecting parts. There is still a lot missing...
Not much. Still a pile of parts...
Too many other priorities like berry harvest
And riding bikes

I just came back from a long (and still ongoing) protest ride through Berlin. I think this one needs a little political context to fully get it. Several years ago, Berlin has given itself a mobility law that sets certain parameters how the various modes of traffic should be prioritized. Public...
Two little upgrades today:
First I finally managed to mount a different hitch to the trailer, thus making it compatible with all my bikes that have the fitting counterpart which are as of now almost all the bikes I keep here at home...
The other upgrade needed a bit more effort.
First I bought...
Had to drive the kid to the lake so he could meet his friends and try out the SUP board he got for his birthday in January. I took the opportunity to instead of waiting to pick them up for the way back take the Wolverine for a spin through the near Grunewald.
Was in such a good flow all 33km...
Yesterday was the (so far) last day of my bike (protest) streak. With getting there and back I put another 70 km down on the CobblestoneRat for our monthly protest ride for better bike infrastructure.
Despite the sometimes intense rain we were around 110 cyclists having a good time..
If you...
