Downside to riding your good stuff…

Yep, sometimes I put a screw into parts I'm joining then bury the whole thing in JB Weld. Fixed a car radiators and rusted holes in oil pans with sheet metal screws. Apply a coat of epoxy to as clean a surface as you can get, then run in a sheet metal screw or two (leave them sticking up a...

Downside to riding your good stuff…

JB Weld to the rescue ! If it's the flexy stuff that fuel tanks and ATV bodys are made of instead just weld it back together with an old solder iron and if you need to add material any old milk jug works as fill rod.

1 1/8 headset bearings in Cannondale frame

Pulled it all apart and discovered 34mm cups, so replacing the whole headset should be easy. Bottom cup had loose caged bearing, and top cup had some kinda built in sealed bearing. The top cone is actually a bottom cone, because bottom cone sits on a step a bigger than 1 1/8" there is a very...

1 1/8 headset bearings in Cannondale frame

Yes. From what I'm seeing re: parts online, looks like 34mm and 44mm caged bearings are common sizes. Are these measured by the id of the race / outside of bearings? Maybe just need a bearing or I can swap cups with smaller race? I'm wondering if the cone on the fork could be smaller on the...

1 1/8 headset bearings in Cannondale frame

Cannondale H300 was in rough shape when I got it and I think the head stock bearings were damaged and I threw what I could find in my parts stash in it to get it working then. Now I'm experimenting adding a suspension fork to soften the ride a bit and raise the bars a bit. I don't have much...

    Out of stock

These are the days that I appreciate a well curated stash of experienced bike parts to pick from. Have not been to a swap in 2 + years and live in a rural area so used parts and bikes are pretty much a way of life for me. Sometimes I see a set of bars, grips or tires that I think are awesome...

    The Great (Haro) Escape

Pics of the pedal options I have. I'm kinda liking the smaller red set, maybe makes the bike look more road-ish? edit - after posting and looking closer, I'm wondering if the big black pedals look best. And seat and bars not final.

    The Great (Haro) Escape

Thanks guys! It's encouraging to see this unique bike be so popular. I was watchin' this video yesterday, and I guess this is a Resto-mod? To be uber cool and current maybe a Gravel bike? Well, we have gravel we ride on around here so.... This thing is super light weight too (even with...

Test fit some pedals today. Pedal threads in crank arms seem a little loose , but i have not tightened them yet. Anyone here use medium threadlocker on pedals or chain ring bolts?

    The Great (Haro) Escape

Test fit the new crankset today. No experience with this newfangled hollowtech clone type so going slow. With all 3 spacers on the right side just a tiny bit of chain sprocket clearance. Chainline looks good.

    The Great (Haro) Escape

The story is it looks like new and my late brother picked it up at a swap meet for $5 maybe 7 years ago. It sat on his shelf till I inherited it. I have not ridden it yet, all I know is there is suspension there, unlike the rock shock which is stuck. Read some reviews here...
