Thanks for info Wildcat! Here are a couple pics of cutting off the top of the seatpost that I intended to post last night. These Bottom bracket bearings look fun too.

    Horsefarmer's fresh finds

Thanks US. I think I may have to adjust the shifter, it works but low gear is noisy, I think it was quieter before I removed the wheel so I'm sure I messed with the adjustment.

    Horsefarmer's fresh finds

This is not a fresh find more of a stale one... Picked this frame up years ago at a swap and painted it. Went to build it and seat post was stuck. Unable to free it after much banging and pb blaster it sat in a corner till today. Cut the battered pedal shaft / crank arm off and cant pound...

Tires for a middleweight cruiser 1.75?

To me 1.75 tires are middleweight size and the limiting factor may be the fenders rubbing on wider tires.

Growing up is hard to do

I can believe it. This guy rocks a single speed coaster brake and hills are "tough sledding".

I wish I could ride it...

A Dyno or Kustom Kruiser also may be a better fit for you - do to "pedal forward" design. I have only a 30" inch inseam but I usually have to run my seat post much higher to be comfortable on other bikes...

    Monark Americana cruiser.

Thanks! Getting easy rolling & and true wheels on it really transformed it. An aded benefit of these rims is the bead area or shoulder of the rim is deeper to retain the tire better - the old rims let the tire bead pop out!

    Monark Americana cruiser.

Fully operational. I took it up one of the steeper hills and it did ok in low. I think the tires & wheels look good. I think this wheelset came from a Ross Central Park bike. Before flipping it I swapped out the wheels.

    Monark Americana cruiser.

And came out pretty good! I have not installed it yet, but runs much truer than the old rim. Decided to try these used French made Avocet tires. They are 26 x 1.5" size but can run 60 psi. I'm thinking the smaller dia may help with the super tall gearing in high gear!

Got all the spokes swapped over. 3 seem sketchy, gonna see if I have any spares that will interchange. Then to set tension on 'em all.

    Shifter swap help

just thought I'd drop a ebay link for a shifter - they are asking $250! FWIW I would just look for a old 3 speed bike with shimano 333 hub - should be easy to find... This looks interesting I dont know the shifter or the seller, but looks cool...

    Monark Americana cruiser.

Since both hoops are bad I decided to sacrifice a CMC 5 speed rear wheel and then I can use the matching front wheel. I decided to use these cause chrome is awesome and though heavy steel they are ridgid and run true. Wish me luck never built a wheel before.....

    Monark Americana cruiser.

Oh man, spent some time on this front wheel but seems I can't get get it to run true. Both front and rear rims are similar. Not an expert on wheel truing but studied some Youtube videos. One said to loosen all spokes 2 turns to let the rim regain shape without tension then re adjust and...
