    Draggin' wagon

Ok so I'm in on this build off. I'm starting by taking this trike down to the frame and starting over. This frame was made by welding the front half of a 1944 CWC to the rear half of a 1970's Workman industrial trike. Yes it looks like a finished trike but I assure you it will not remain this...

    You in with what?

Looking forward to seeing it. Trying to decide if I want to build one for each class this year or focus on one build so I actually finish on time. Side question... Could I enter the anything goes class with a pre built frame? I plan to take it apart 100% down to the frame and start from there...

    Outskirtscustoms finds

Just found a sweet deal on a pair of Fat Franks. I'm sure I'll find something to put them on.

    Outskirtscustoms finds

Right. They are nice grips too and feel soft so we'll see how well they hold up. They do have the look I'm going for. Could it be a possibility that these sellers are writing off shipping as a business expense on their taxes? Are they allowed to do that? I know some businesses can write off...

    Outskirtscustoms finds

Got a few things in from eBay today to put into inventory. First up I got these sweet white torpedo grips which will probably go on the Columbia Arch-bar. not the correct badge for my frame but the price was right and it will serve as a temporary till I can find a correct one then this will...

    Memento Mori

I have been looking at the GT smoothie tires for a build I have planned out. How close are they to the advertised 2.5 inches wide? I am really hoping I can squeeze them in the frame I am planning to use. If they fit it will be a tight fit but the look will be worth it.

The next build off? Plans for the future

How about a traditional build off. Stock frame and anything goes. I think this would be more inclusive and not as restrictive to build a certain way. Let creativity flow unrestricted. I don't plan to build with skinny tires because I'm a big guy unless you consider 2.5 wide skinny enough to not...

The next build off? Plans for the future

So this year I'm going to build a bike that has been a long time coming. I finally hit my milestone of a 100+ year old bike. "The Centurion" if you will. I will pay respect to the original bike, pay homage to the early days of Rat Rod Bikes, use a few tricks I have learned over the years, and...

    Build plans

So first allow me to be perfectly clear this post is a "sneak preview" of things to come for the build off I am not starting the build as per the rules till the first of next month only planning it out and gaining feedback. So with that said I will lay it out. This year I've been thinking long...

Arch-bar / Truss bridge style frame and fork

So I'm guessing since the bike is between a 1917 and 1920 and the numbers on the bottom bracket appear to be 1845 I'm going to assume first two numbers are year and last two are week??? So 1918 Columbia Arch-bar???

Got the 1917-1920 Columbia Arch-bar today!

Arch-bar / Truss bridge style frame and fork

Head badge holes are really unusual so this should be a good clue. They are on either side of the steer tube but offset one higher one lower. I am thinking Columbia. Serial number looks like 1845?

Arch-bar / Truss bridge style frame and fork

That's where I got the picture. Such beautiful patina on that bike. I pray mine has original paint preserved under the respray. Just tagged him on the chance he may still have it and might be able to offer some comparison reference pictures.

Arch-bar / Truss bridge style frame and fork

Searched and it looks like @tanksalot had this sweet looking Arch-bar last year. Any info you can share?

    Previous Build Off Winners

I will update this as I can find the missing pictures. If anyone wants to help fill in the blanks we can keep this going. Just comment the build off number, bike name, and builder and I'll add it to the quotes message. Found pictures of the first two winners.
