I will keep that in mind. Betty's guys supposedly built the pattern
for mine Saturday. Not sure how long it will take them to build
it but Its liable to be crocodile. LOL Since it won't cost me anything
I liked them doing it.
Since I'm running a jackshaft ,I needed a way to tighten the
chain from the jackshaft to the wheel. I talked it over with Kram/Mark
and he said the adjusters were easy to build. This is what I came up
with. The fab guy had punched a hole in a couple 1/8'' straps for me.
I cut off two and welded...
Yeah I was thinking something simple. Ya never know how
its going to turn out. Not really high on the priority list right
now anyway. Still have lots of other things to finish before
I worry about a place to sit.
Wife has her company that builds expensive purses. Her guy
is going to try to sew me one up tomorrow. I gave him a
picture of what I want so maybe he can do it. May wind up
with a strap and some pockets.lol
Got my axle threaded and my Monster drop outs made. I tacked
them in still have to wait for the front tire to get here Tuesday. I'm
pretty sure 1/4'' thick steel for the drop outs will not bend.
Yeah Luke the best part was he had trust in me. I had two of them
and he had to put his faith in me returning the other one. Made me
feel good. I would have returned it if I had to hand tote it back.
Ok got my front brake hooked up. I know your thinking. that
probably took 2 minutes. Heck took 30 minutes to figure out
how and what to use to make it work. This ain't no Schwinn.
Anyway works good and one more thing off the list.
Just happened to look and the back pulley on my TAV had a wobble.
Called them and he said it wasn't suppose to. He sent me another
complete one yesterday and it got here today. I pulled out the other
part and it was smooth as butter. I packed it back and put his label
on and shipped it back. Its...
Hopefully since you went to college and are smart, you would
see this is a bad idea to sink a lot of money into something
you will probably never use. Sometimes having the talent gets
you into some projects that get kinda wasteful on the ol pocketbook.
Luke I'm the same way. I tried to build that last motor bike, but
couldn't do it without adding another seat tube and some gussets.
Just isn't my style to do it normal.
Yeah it comes in handy. I run to my fab friends shop all the time.
What takes me 30 minutes to cut and fabricate, his machines will
do in minutes. Took me 15 minutes to drill two holes in some 3/16ths
plate. He has a punch that popped both of them in seconds. I love
really heavy duty machines...
Its funny , this wheel and drum brake was already on this fork.
I can't believe how much fabricating it takes to just make what
Honda used ,work for me. Oh well gives me something to do. I
have to think ,now how did they hook up that part. lol
Got my friend to shear my motor plate down. Then drilled
the mounting holes and mounted the motor. Still need to
weld the plate to my frame. Its just tacked and now that its
right, I can weld it up.
