The goal is to get the metal as close to perfect as I can and then have everything nickel plated. I haven't begun to investigate what that will cost yet but its only money right?
Thanks, I can't take full credit, My friend Brooks who can be seen in that last photo I posted was sympathetic to my cause and logged about 35 hours over the past two weeks. He's got mad skills and I'd give him a task and when it was done I found myself wondering if it came out better than if...
Sorry for the lack of pics, I was so focused on getting the money shot I forgot I could upload multiple pics. I kind of panicked when I got home from my photo shoot and realized most of my photo's were crap. Here's a few more. And I'll get a ride video soon, not tonight though. I'm going back...
Thanks, That means a lot coming from you since your builds were so inspiring to me. You're the first person I think of when it comes to taking this venue to the next level.
Nah, its not in the bag. Your bike came out great, You made some very complex engineering look effortless. And even if you don't win, at least you still get the award for best wife. If my ex hadn't already left me she would have during this build.
a few more pics of the front duck tail. The fenders taper from 4" wide to 3 1/4. Makes for a nice round to gothic center. Now if only I could find some tires that taper as well. o_O
Here's some highlights from the last two manic days of construction. I hope there's no long term consequences from all the abuse I did to my body over last few days. I lear ned that you can shape sheet metal by pounding on it directly with a dolly but I don' t recommend it. My hand...
Just wanted to do a test upload. I'm super paranoid that some technical snafu will prevent me from getting my pics uploaded. I know there is a 1.2 megabyte max but I never reduced the size of my pics previously. Do I have to reduce them or does it happen automatically? As you can Shaggs is...
So instead of staring the fenders I started tinkering with my saddle. I knew I wanted to modify this repop hairpin saddle I had but I didn't know exactly where I was going to go with the rails. I don't even know how I came up with this but I love it! It needs a little more R&D like maybe a...
Well finished as a relative term right haha. It's rideable so it's going in regardless. I'm going to start on the fenders tonight and hopefully they don't kick my butt like every other aspect of this project has.
