    Cockpit shots only

Excuse me for cutting in line here but I'm more concerned with "brake lever position is UK set, front brake on right hand side of the bike". Remind me never to borrow a bike from a bloke across the pond! I'd surely go a** over elbows if I tried to ride a set up like that! 🤣

    Homemade Tools

When I was machining the front derailleur for my Raleigh 10sp, I needed to machine a half-bore out of the body to fit the seat tube diameter but didn't have a way to do so on my lathe/mill, so I made a boring head. From a chunk of brass round stock, I turned a small post on one end (to hold in...

    The view from Western Massachusetts

Figured I'd start one of these threads too, a place where I can dump pics from hikes, rides, interesting finds and the like from my neck of the woods. Right in the middle of the first real snow storm of the '23/'24 season today, still coming down. There's about 8" so far. I don't expect it...

    What's cooking?

This has become a bit of a weekend breakfast standard for me. Toast w/ mayo and Everything Bagel seasoning (the Mrs. Dash no-salt stuff, it's great), 2 or 3 scrambled eggs, and Cholula. Unfortunately my hens stop laying in the winter, so these are just store bought eggs - very pale yellow...

Any pics after cooking? I do love a good pot roast.

    Second build: No name yet

Got an update on this build! Shortly after realizing the sidecar wasn't going to work, I kinda lost interest and replaced this project with others. Somewhere around the same time (I think, going on memory only here) I got moved to 3rd shift at work, which can really disrupt every aspect of...

    Bed Frame Bike, v2.0

I'm just now seeing this? I gotta spend more time in the "Builds" section. This is awesome.

    MUTT

I really like this twin tube frame! Knobby tires look good, too; IMO. Definitely gonna keep an eye on this one.

    SHOW ME YOUR BIKE ART!

Here's another stained glass piece I made. A coworker friend commissioned this from me, she wanted a unique gift to give to her dad for Christmas '23. Her only "requirements" were that it had to be bicycle-themed and it had to have the color green in it. This left the door wide open for me, and...

    What's cooking?

Took the easy route tonight and dressed up some ramen noodles. Two packets of chicken ramen, a bag of frozen veggies (broccoli, baby corn, sugar snap peas and carrots), dash or two of soy sauce, a scrambled egg and a big dollop of spicy mustard. Easy, cheap, and tastier than I expected.

What did you learn to drive in?

I forgot they were putting V6's in those! 3.2L I think? Mine had the little 2.2L straight 4 and a whopping 95 horsepower. I only beat my buddy's Camaro because I had a better launch. His was a V6...possibly the same engine they were putting in the Cavalier?

    Cockpit shots only

Haven't seen any of that stuff yet this season here, but we're forecast for a heavy dose tonight into tomorrow. They're calling for 12"+ from this storm!

What did you learn to drive in?

I bought my first car before I had my license, as such it was registered and insured in my dad's name while I learned how to drive. I bought it from a Ford mechanic for $750 in 2004. Both rocker panels were 100% expanding spray foam, but the rest of the car was nearly immaculate. Ran like a top...

    The alternative shifter ..

When I'm on my MTB, I ride too aggressively for grip shifters. I had them years ago and had way too many false shifts while bombing down a rough trail. Once I found rapid fire trigger shifters, I never went back to anything else. I also never had a pair that felt right in my hand. I can't speak...

Did you ride your bike to school?

You know, as much as I rode my bike as a kid/teen the thought of riding to school never once occurred to me. I was only about 2 miles from school, too. Come to think of it, I don't remember seeing many bikes out front, either. Most kids took a bus or got dropped off by mom or dad. Some walked...

    Anybody else into sober living?

Well, that one's on me for not thinking enough about it from that perspective. I'm sorry for accusing you of trolling. As you were, all...

    Anybody else into sober living?

@Cycledelic68 Maybe I'm missing the point in your posts above, but to me it seems you're trolling by posting pro-alcohol content in a thread that is specifically anti-alcohol. Hell of a way to respect and support the members of this community.
