Found it! This is for the gear indicator strip, yes? You can buy rolls of shim stock from McMaster-Carr, but the only one that's 3/8" wide is only .002" thick. Definitely flexible enough but might not last very long. This stuff is also shim tape, so it's got adhesive on one side...maybe you...

I'm sorry, I tried to figure it out but just can't seem to follow along 🤔 What is this business with the tape measure all about? What are you making with it?

    SHOW ME YOUR BIKE ART!

Almost forgot about this one. A few years ago I picked up stained glass as a hobby. I decided to turn this skiptooth chainring into a clock, and then gifted it to my parents on their (40th?) wedding anniversary. It also involved turning a brass piece to adapt the clock movement to the center...

    SHOW ME YOUR BIKE ART!

Alright then, guess I'll just jump in then! This Columbia was given to me by my aunt-in-law. Somebody had welded a spike to the BB to be able to poke it into the ground. The spike had since been removed, but it's spent enough time outside that that's where it's gonna stay. Solid rubber tires...

SHOW ME YOUR WORKSPACE / SHOP

Here's a look into the abyss. Obviously a multi-use facility here...storage space, workshop, gym, art gallery, therapist's office... Most of the magic happens right here. That little bench top lathe has pulled me out of a bind more times than I can remember. It's also where I machined the...

    Cockpit shots only

Took a quick little spin on the BMX this morning. Retrieving my phone from the front left pocket of my shorts with my right hand while riding was a harrowing experience.

    SHOW ME YOUR BIKE ART!

I wanna see pieces of art that you've created (or found, bought, been given) that are made with old bike parts! Sculptures, wall hangings, statues, abstracts, etc. I also want to see your yard art! Surely we've all got some old bikes that were just too far gone to repair, but not too far gone...

    Mountain bikes

My current MTB is a 2019 Kona Mahuna, pretty much stock except for some dress up parts. This was my first step into a 29er and after riding it a few times I couldn't really ride my old MTB, it felt like I was riding a kid's bike, lol The Kona is a 1x10 drivetrain, and has hydraulic disc brakes...

    Mountain bikes

I built this when I was 16 using my earnings from picking tobacco for a farm in town. Buying all the components at closeout prices from Nashbar saved me about half over buying at full price, and I still spent a bit over $1,600! Nashbar Access frame, RockShox Judy XC fork, Avid BB7 mechanical...

    Cockpit shots only

From tonight's ride. First time on a dirt road, the bike handled it better than expected. Getting pelted in the face with little rocks coming off the front tire was a nice touch, too 😂

post up those really cool photos from your bike rides!

Feeling inspired by @Flying Zombie , I made sure to take the dirt road home from the library tonight so I could get a shot in front of the corn field.

    Anybody else into sober living?

As a teen I always swore I'd never drink, never smoke, etc. Didn't see the allure in it. Then, when I was 18 or 19, all my friends started drinking. I held out for a while, but then that was all they wanted to do when they got together, so I started being left out of the gatherings. They were...

    Anybody else into sober living?

Today marks 4 years sober for me, and I'm curious if anyone else here is recovered from an addiction (and if you'd like to share your story). I realize this topic could get heavy, so if this isn't something y'all are interested in, I get it. Just putting the feelers out for now I guess. Thoughts?
