Yup! Komet Supers front and rear. I forget where I got the inspiration from, it was somebody here a number of years ago.
In its current iteration, the front brake is mostly cosmetic, honestly. I mean it physically functions but the linkage/mounting hardware probably aren't strong enough to...
Gonna give this a bump because I've been gone for a while...
Uh, hi again! A couple things have changed but I'm still Kyle and I still love bikes of all types. A few recent additions to my herd have me getting creative with storage, which inevitably led to me changing up some things on my first...
It was a really fun project! I've got pics somewhere of each step of the machining process. One minor problem is that I didn't take into account the proximity to the rear tire...it doesn't rub but it's close! Close enough that I have to squeeze every bit of air out of the tire to be able to...
Updates!
The Church Rat has changed a little over the last few years, most notably the fork. I picked this up from Amazon and, after machining the dropouts to accommodate the hub, I started machining new front brake and headlight mount parts from brass.
Next I added a brass panel and number...
Here's my '76 (maybe '79? I forget) Raleigh Record. I picked it up about a year ago from C'List for $40 and started cleaning and rebuilding it.
It had these narrow flat bars installed when I bought it and I rather like them, so they received new grips and brake levers.
I had originally planned...
Man, I'm really glad I happened to check in here, haha. I hadn't been getting any notifications from the thread so I was still planning on showing up on the 20th, hah!
I think June 3rd works for me. It gives me more time to figure out how exactly I'm going to transport my bike, 2 weekends ago I...
I'm not getting my hopes up, but there's a chance I could make this ride...at least the Saturday night portion of it.
Fingers crossed!

Glad to hear you didn't get too banged up in the crash!
Here's what may be a stupid question: was the wheel appropriately laced for disc brakes? I forget the terminology/names of spoke patterns, but I know that traditional lace patterns can come apart if used on disc brake wheels.

Just because I'm proud of my creation, I'll post a shot of mine. Similar setup to the bike Falstaff posted.
Komet Super hub, couple of coaster brake arm clamps, generic extension spring, a big steel hook, ball peen hammer, electrical conduit.
I just can't seem to leave it alone...
Nothing too special...made a paper template, transferred it to masonite, cut and sanded, drilled some holes, freehanded the lettering with a Sharpie (both sides) then rubbed with used motor oil.
