Got started on my seat tonight , cant bring myself to put a modern seat on this bike but i want something different , so i am taking this old seat i have and i am going to polish the top pan and paint the frame , heres where i have got so far

By far the best site on the net for bikes and bike builds , I wouldn't be any place else , these build offs push a builder to try and do things they wouldn't think about trying , and you can ask just about anyone on this site for info about things and get the answers your looking for .

No I am just going to change it by hand for now , to put the derailleur I would have to add a post and I didn't like the way it would stick up in the air , I don't think I will change gears often but if I get some where with lots of hills I can just move it to the little gear or the big gear if...

OK i made the last of the changes to the bike and now its ready for paint , i changed out the crank arms with 3 chain rings so i have a choice of what gear to run on instead of just one , the seat post is going to work out just the way it is so i am going with it , just not sure what seat to put...

Ya I tried to build this one so it fit me just right , I plan on putting a lot of miles on this bike at the campgrounds so I wanted to be comfortable , I just want to bring the bars back to me a little so I think I will add about 5 or 6 " to them so I am not bent over so far

YEE HAA , Its a rider , no brakes or shifter but who needs those , took it for about a 1/2 mile ride and all is good

I have thought about a filler panel in the top piece but I have other stuff to worry about first , if I have time that might be an idea to go with but the clock is ticking and I don't want to miss the dead line

Funny thing is I haven't made up my mind yet what I am going to do with the seat , the post that is there is to close to the rear tire so it has to come off and make another one but I don't think I want to do just a post , going to try something different for this one , stay tune the seat mount...

Well i got the bike in roller form tonight , a little more welding and drill some holes to run the cables through and a front brake mount and i can start painting

Got out in the shop tonight and got some done on the forks , hopefully will have them done tomorrow night

The "tank" on that bike is the corner pieces off a dinner booth , and the chrome cap is a center cap from a jeep wheel

I think the curve matches , the part I don't like is where the steer tube is welded on , it needs to be inline with the top part of the forks and that means cutting the tube back off the frame to change the angle and it will take to long to start that part over again so I will just use on this...

Well i tried the curved forks and been looking all day at them , i like the idea but for them to look right i have to cut the frame back apart and redo the rake on the steering head , i think i am going with the straight forks on this build and set the curve ones aside for an upcoming build , so...

Thanks , but if i go with white walls i think i would go with the boa g tires , i really like the tread on those tires plus i can buy them through Rat Rod and help support the site any chance i get ,
