    Juvenile Reverie

Good lookin mock up, nice stance. Id personally move away from skip tooth unless you have some attachment to it. Throw a regular sprocket on the match the gearing you need when you decide rear hub and tooth count.

    Twisted typhoon (name change)

. Parts need to be clean, grease free for OA to work. What issue did you have with OA? Vinegar is a good alternative. Cost more to fill a tub to submerge a frame. Citric Acid is similar to OA, need to figure why Oxalic didnt work or may have same issue. POR15. Ive sworn off the stuff, I...

    Drag bike

Consider a 24 rear on a schwinn type middleweight frame, larger frame than 20". Kick the fork out and either go 20" front for musclebike look, or skinny 26 or 700cc front for mototorcycle chopper look. Same applies with a 26 rear and frame. 20" frame with a stretched fork and layed back...

Maybe I should join bmx bo

Looks like a fun rider, the chrome steel wheels arent great, look around for an aluminum rim or rim set. Throw a banana seat on it, mess with some people, it'll will be a wheelie machine.

    Overcomplicated Suicide Shifters

I welded a stub of handlebar to the top tube, used a piece of golf club shaft with an insert threaded into the end, threads match the ball on the end. Used a chrome cover, it came from a ceiling fan.

    MBBO/BMXBO 2020-2021 RULES - READ FIRST!!!

Ooh Ooh Ooh, bmx is about all I build. I need to carve out some time and drag out some parts. OR, rebuild my past MBBO - that didnt really ride well.

    Shorten a steer tube

I finally bought a die to extend threads. If your fork has threads far enough, use a hose clamp or 2 spare headset nuts locked together as a guide. If the threads arent long enough, bike shop can thread deeper and probably do the cut for you. I ve converted a fork from 1" threaded to...

Oil in 3 speed hub and crankset

I use 50wt gear lube on freewheels. Clean them in gasoline to get the crud out, submerge in 50 wt and rotate them once in a while. Should hang and cling well in a multi gear hub.

    Spray booth

For small jobs, bikes etc, the harbor freight purple guns do pretty well. Reduce accordingly, shoot some tack coats and 2 flow coats with flash time in between. I use a lot of industrial enamel, i prefer valspar implement paint, but rustoleum works too. Mix ratio 8 part paint, 4 part...

    Spray booth

Nice. I use a similar set up. piece of black pipe, stuck in a concrete block with a few other pieces of broken block jammed around the pipe so its tight and vertical. Hose clamp on the pipe, rests inside the headtube. I also shoot from a gun anytime I can, hvlp and enamel at home. I mask...

    Homemade Tools

This is a piece of fiberglass tent pole with a slit cut and long emory cloth. Chuck it in a drill and it makes a whip sander for seat post tubes EASY You can also buy a fiberglass pole for driveway reflectors to make one. It will clean and polish, but it doesnt remove material. If you...

    Speedster 26" BMX Cruiser

Very clean, good lines, no unnecessary add ons. Ditching the chainguard makes a big difference but its always hard to do on Schwinns's since its so tied to the bike identity and graphics.

Increasing travel on Shimano Acera front derailleur

Good tip on the crank alignment. The issue with travel, there wasnt enough, likely from me choosing a replacement derailleur that may not have been compatible. Thought it was applicable ratrodbikes since we all mix and match. Im not a big fan of front derailleurs, this was a kids roadbike...

... clean grease and grime off of hands.

I do the same with the goop hand cleaner, wet my hands with it before any work. Very good cleaner too, needs to be folowed up with soap and water.

    Polishing Galvanized Conduit

Agree, galvanized is nasty. I pop my paint respirator on when cutting it or welding it. The green smoke when its welded - cant be good for ya.

    Polishing Galvanized Conduit

I was standing in the garage anyway. Made a quick little mock up of how to add a support in the bolt area of the bottom of the sissy bar Id protect the final version better or press it between some boards to have a more even bend pattern, maybe even router a form. It can be accomplished...

    Polishing Galvanized Conduit

Little modified Waylon Jennings dukes lyrics. Makin' OUR way The only way WE know how Ah crap. Is that off limits, in the current world. Oh well, its a good song.

    Self sluggin' hybrid butt joint

I like it. For round tubing i cut a piece off, slit lengthwise, tuck one side into itself for a roll, go easy on the roll so it stays tight in the ID. Perfect to lengthen bars.
