    IT CAME FROM OUTTA SPACE?

Enjoying this build, the 52T plate sprocket has a real visual impact. The wheels: high flange, the mix of old and new, then 12g spokes - outstanding. Echoing @GuitarlCarl on the fork choice. The low lean stance looks chopped without having to cut anything.

Urine Yellow - mountain bike to bmx conversion

Got Covid, nothings happening. Doing OK, but kicking my butt, very tired. Will resume when feeling better. Have been picking away at specialized tune up, little at a time.

    Splegiate

looking good and it's riding, see if it's dialed in. The chainguard works with the 27" wheels, agree - commuter style, no cross bar adds to it.

    Little Willy

OH hell yeah, this is a great build. How did I miss this. Will be a lot of fun on pump track.

Those bars are perfect. I've Not seen that much rise on swept back bars before

Urine Yellow - mountain bike to bmx conversion

So why did I spend all day in the garage. Having a beer now and contemplating. Anyway, rat rod tool cabinet is complete. Even that had some eventful moments. I had a paint gun that I've been meaning to rehab, loaned it out and it came back screwed up. Cleaned and shot some thinner thru it...

Urine Yellow - mountain bike to bmx conversion

This is a perfect frame for me, rear of top tube even with tire. I like a shorter frame versus what's "recommended" per height. I ride a lot of BMX still and ride standing a lot. The taller frames feel sluggish, they dont bunny hop well. I still ride full rigid on trails - other riders...

Urine Yellow - mountain bike to bmx conversion

It was marketed as a female bike. ? Who knows, purple is fine with me. With 19" frame height, it's a good fit. Got sidetracked again, building a tool cabinet to slide under my fab bench, 28" height. Building it from filing cabinets that I'm cutting down. It's definitely rat rod. So...

    Spacey liner

    - Gotta make those wheels fit - Great bracket - Agree, the seat is not working. Would rotating the front fender forward help? If so, trim the rear to same height on the backside?

Urine Yellow - mountain bike to bmx conversion

My ADD is kicking in, went out to work on this a few times and started something else each time. Hmm, hung it up, we'll see when it gets interesting again Picked up this Specialized Myka over the winter for almost nothing. I think its a women's bike but a 19" frame. Pretty comfy actually...

    Bike for my son

Good call, 20" wheel Treks are always listed for resale in my area. Most look like they have little use.

Urine Yellow - mountain bike to bmx conversion

Threw a chain on loosely and took it for a ride. It's worth it to keep going. The bottom bracket height is fine with the fork on there now (no taller than standard 26" fork) May look around for 26" 1 1/8 donor fork / bike or buy a straight chrome fork. Rear wheel needs relaced or...

    The Great (Haro) Escape

Watching this one, I really like 90s mtnbk frame geometry. More details on the 1x8 conversion? Ive Seen it done differnent ways What's the status of the Judy's? I have a thread on here about replacing elastomers with readily available urethane bar stock, it's not unique to rock shocks...

Dr Tankenstein, I always enjoy your builds, you go all the way, can't wait to see this one. Good save on the fork, those pins were swedged on the back, grinding off was the right move.

    Single & Ready to Mingle

Really like your build, Great lines on that frame, the tank idea is very cool. Color combo with the light tires. Spoon mount is very creative. I used a similar - grill utensil kits always come with a pile of forks and pokers that are stainless - long stainless handles are great for bike...

Urine Yellow - mountain bike to bmx conversion

I need to get a chain on and see how it rides. It's still a "test subject" it feels a little tight for me from the mock up. If myself or my daughter like it as a bmx..... then I'll spend some money. If not there's a lot of pretty donor good parts. Alternative - 24" Rear with coaster...

Euro bottom bracket, center the spindle

Posted this in a build and wanted to share on a how to. I was building a bmx, but this should apply to any single speed using euro bottom bracket. When the bottom bracket was assembled in the frame there was more offset on the drive side, makes sense since they're set up for multi speed. I...

Wanting to paint my bike looking for advice

    1) Tear it down all the way. 2) Degrease everything before starting prep. 3) If there's rust, wire wheel it to shiny. Here's where you decide if you can use old paint as a base. 4) any chips or wire wheeled areas need to be feathered out, a long way, if you just do the little area area a...

Hawg Wylde, my 1962 Schwinn Typhoon 20" Pig Bike Build Off #17 Class 1 Entry.

Holy Parts Stash, you have a pile of goodies lined up for this build. Gonna be fun to follow along. Nice paint color. Please post up what brands of paint you used, getting them all to play nicely without lifting is a challenge sometimes.

    Road Rash

That thing is dripping with style the way it sits. See how it looks coming out of OA bath, looks like plenty of paint there to take a hand polish. The "glow" of cleaned up faded paint is really nice compared to a flat clear. Looking forward to see where ya go with it. The Murray, WOW.
