    Marine Transmission ID

Can anyone shed some light on the manufacturer of this marine transmission. The brass plate is just a caution label about running with low oil, has a cast on serial E-6600-M. Does not match any Velvet Drive photos I have seen.

Its funny you mention the tires, I was just commenting yesterday that finding vintage pairs of tires is pretty much the hardest part of bringing these things back to service in style. I overhauled a nice old original Pink Univega mtb a few years back, very similar to the design and build on...

    Old Vs New

Circa 1992 Specialized S-Works M2 on a 200? Specialized Hardrock. My how geometry has changed from what was top of the line 20+ years ago to entry level today.

If I'm reading the #'s correctly its a 1983. If the 3rd letter is the month then October? Details are scarce. Thanks for the link iridium. Going to put a dent in the work bench tonight, need to tackle some lower ball joints this afternoon, ugh.

It’s the early 80’s, and this is it. The ultimate, all your money can buy, state of the art, straight out of a box Mountainbike. Hand assembled with various components and ready to go. Time passes, and thirty something years later I’m bartering some work with a friend. My side of the bargain...

Hadley.. drool.. So that looks like a moderately fat bike? Tires look huge!

    The new Hauler

These things are just so versatile, rear bench seatbacks fold flat and it will fit a sheet of plywood, the seats also are adjustable fore and aft, and obviously pop right out for hauling rusty bikes. Back when I had my 2wd astro I think I fit 8 bikes in the back. Just ordered up fan clutch...

    Townie

So I've had this Electra Townie for 2 years now and I'm just now bringing it in for overhaul. I need to be careful because as it sits, this is not my kind of bike.... but it very nearly could be, which we all know can be dangerous. I did what I qualify as a thorough tune up. Basically bike...

    Long spring

They do look cool with minimal padding and a nice leather top.. I don't think I could do bare metal!

    The new Hauler

Well, new to me that is. My good old Subaru forester's rear K frame finally gave up this spring so it was time for an upgrade. Enter the 2000 Chevy Astro! All Wheel Drive, 8 passenger, all the bells and whistles and only 76K on the dial. Previous owner didn't get out much I suppose, but at...

LTJ's 1981 DATSUN STANZA (A10) WANNABE RALLY CAR. SOLD and moving.

I think the style of the wheels is good but they are a bit too shiny. Black chrome spray paint?

LTJ's 1981 DATSUN STANZA (A10) WANNABE RALLY CAR. SOLD and moving.

I know that adding sway bars on my VW Rabbit made a huge difference, I even softened up the shocks for a smoother ride and doubled up my rear bars with a factory GTI and a 22mm aftermarket. Still fun to lift the inside wheel but was much more predictable in corners. I haven't checked in on...
