Easy fix. Thanks to everyone that gave me advice on this build. It's only my second entry and I still have a lot to learn.

Finished bike photos.

I used 2 small 5 mode flashlights and adapted them to the vintage style headlights to make them operate in high, medium, low, flashing, and S.O.S. This video shows them in flash mode.

Got it working. 5 modes high, medium, low, flashing and $.O.S.

Test rode the bike today after tightening up some loose end this weekend. The laid back seat post and the 2nd mirror arrived in the mail Saturday and got installed. Just a couple of odds and ends to wrap up and it'll be finished for now.

These cheap Chinese Springers have a tube that runs all the way through the fork. There is no way to mount the support to the fork pivot bolt without cutting it out.

Bike from the Dead I took your advice and drilled 2 holes in the steerer, 1 for the fender, turned the fender support 90 degrees and moved the headlight higher. Function is better now. Thanks for the heads up. BeforeAfter

I'm going to try and will of drill a hole in the steerer 90 degrees to the one there now and turn the front fender support 90 degrees. I also will have to drill another hole for the headlight Maybe that will work better. ?

The plan is to use a Stratolite No.38 3 1/4" rear trailer reflector and a 3" Chinese LED headlight to make a taillight. I wanted it to flash by just wiring it to a flashing head light but I haven't figured out how to make that work. The headlight is 3 volts (2-1.5 volt AAA batteries). If anyone...

I see what your saying. The mount should be around the fork mounting bolt side to side instead of a screw front to back. But the large fork bolt is 1" up in the steerer so I don't think changing it would allow it to move much, if any. Oh well, that screw also holds the headlight and would not...

It's the same design Schwinn used on the 69-73 Krate bikes. If you just bolted a fender, on a 26" bike, to the same spot in the bottom of the head stem in the fork it would have the same effect.

Flashlight has one led bulb. Head light has 7 led bulbs. Power goes to flashlight circuit board which is in flash mode but everywhere I try to get power from it just makes the head light come on No flashy flash.

I tried that but only the flashlight bulb flashes. I can't make the added lights to flash.

I want to make a 3 volt headlight (2aa batteries) flash. Any simple, easy, inexpensive ideas?
