It cleaned up very nicely. The Simplex front derailleur is partly made of plastic and is broken and will have to be replaced. If course I had to replace tires, tubes, wheel liners, and cables but overall a good $20 Facebook marketplace find.

What type of rims are on the green one? I would like to have balloon tires on mine since the rear rim is trash. Maybe keep that Atom rear drum for a future project.

I had the same rear hub on a 1980 Schwinn Cruiser 5 about 20 years ago. Wish I hadn't sold it to my brother in law.

Found this on marketplace yesterday for $100. A RATTY looking 1974 Schwinn Deluxe Twinn! On the plus side is the rear drum brake, nice pedals, grips and the paint may be (mostly) ok. On the minus side... it's HUGE and HEAVY, the rear rim and derailleur are twisted pretty bad, most of the chrome...
