Could I replace a worn out late 60's model Schwinn Sting Ray derailleur with a newer Shimano short cage one? If so, what is the best model to use for that application? The shifter that will be used is a late 60's model friction type Schwinn Stik Shift. I would hate to buy a new one just to find...

Good ideas. It's still evolving. Trying to just use what I have already and not spend a lot of money. I'd like to move the seat farther back. Give it a muscle bobber look.

It turned out pretty nice. Not a RatRod but was a fairly complete bike that just needed A LOT of love.....(💵) and it deserved to be restored.

Farm Hand has got his new duds, boots and jewelry. Just gotta shine his boot and finish his reflector.Covered his saddle myself. Looks ok for a old man with arthritis.

It's a 1974 Schwinn Lime Green original paint color with black decals and stripes on the fenders. Should clean up nicely.

With most people having internet access now the days of hearing about the "low miles 1960 Chevy for $500" that turns out to be a Corvette are getting harder to find. Getting a complete bike with most of the original parts that just needs to be cleaned, serviced and adjusted seems like a win win...

$25 got me a 1974 ladies 5 speed Suburban in good condition. A little rust, newer tires, needs a seat, cables and brake pads. I'll keep hitting the yard sales and maybe find a Schwinn horn tank bike one day!

I'm sorta "Old" School. I love the cantilever frame design of a Schwinn. Adult bikes all the way down to a Midget Stingray. Until they sold to Pacific they were well built and last forever. The only cool things on a OCC "Stink"ray is the w i d e rear tire and the chopper front forks. So...

I've worked on the frame setup for a couple of hours Saturday. Trying to get the lines right and keep it functional.I don't have a tubing bender so I had to splice tubing from another frame to make the bends. Welded nuts into what would have been the tubes that attach the rear tire. Exerciser...

A Western Flyer Eliminator was my first Stingray style bike. My parents bought it new at the Western Auto in Berea, KY. I was about 8 years old.

Farm Hand Fastback is going to get restored so I had to come up with another bike for the build. I had this old Schwinn Exerciser and saw this "OCC Stingray" on Facebook. Maybe I can chop both of them up and make something acceptable. Exerciser already started losing a little weight.

Riverside 1.0! Swapped the wheels from the Diamondback. Cleaned it up a little. Painted the fenders with some Dupli-color Orange Metalcast Went to a local sporting goods store and got a Shimano Altus derailleur for $18 bucks. 3 hours later "Out for a spin". It cleaned up pretty good and rides...
