use boiled Linseed oil, if you what to keep the bare metal shine. My Twin Bar has this done to it and it still has the shine to it after a year.

The leather I used is really nice raw leather, that's very lightly dyed Brown. So it's scuffs and scratches pretty easily. Which I don't mind I like the old baseball glove look.
