    53 Western Rocket - Put A Fork In Her, She's Done !

I'd say yes on recovering your seat, but after redoing several of these old saddles. I understand why upholsterers charge so much, it's exceedingly time-consuming work. That doesn't always work out, I was a little bit short on one of the lips of the seat. Will see how it holds up hopefully I...

The seat come out beautiful ! Really enjoyed recovering it. I did have some help with fitting the leather to the pan. It helps when you have someone with 25 years of experience recovering furniture.

Thanks I put the linseed oil on a bit thicker then I usually do, so it's got an almost shellac type finish. Yes the Darts are basically brand-new, barely any miles put on them. And the ones they do have were put on by me.

I also decided to scrub down the Lighting Darts, they cleaned up well. Tire in front is before scrubbing.

He was cutting up a motorcycle seat pan, over all my stuff and set the 60 year old seat padding on fire with grinder sparks. So sadly nothing as comical as your scenario.

Well I'm back ! Here's the seat all repainted. Sadly the OG seat cover kind of got set on fire, by one of my room mates. 60 year old seat padding seems to be highly flammable, grinder sparks set it off.

Well the seat was in bad shape under the seat cover, 1-2 more decades and it would have been dust. Gonna try and reuse the OG seat cover. This bracket was busted as well, I have a donor seat it has both brackets. Donor bracket Vinegar soaking time !

I'd go with some vintage black walls if you have any, like these ones on my 39 Elgin.

Cleaned up the bottom bracket assembly, and replaced the bent crank with a nice dog leg. Also refurbished a more correct stem and a little sneak peak at the seat being worked on. Stem on the right is being replaced. Before After The Monark chain ring and dog leg look good together...

I actually did use the little guy, as well as a bigger ball peen. Little one's good for the finer work.
