I also found a lonely rain gutter rear fender, begging to be bobbed. So I did a color match over the black, I left the original white center. Got the chop saw out and made a quick cut and shaped it with my trusty belt sander..!

So its been a minute since my last post, summer is flying by but I have made some progress on Rocky. I figured out how to attach the lower part of the tank. I used a pocket jig, its one of my favorite tools in the tool box. I also attached the shifter, it came off a old 40s lathe which I think...

I just wanted to say thanks for looking and following my build. I made good use of some me time out in the garage today. I got the second side of the tank cutout, sanded and routed. Also I got to use my sweet new/vintage belt sander I scored for 40 bucks ..o

So I really like your idea, hollowing out the inside is something that I did not think about. I have some plans for the tank inspired by the JC Higgins Manifold bike, but maybe I could do both. Or even make 2 tanks lol. Thanks for looking and giving positive feedback!

Thanks, I appreciate you looking.! Its definitely pretty beefy and the fork just clears it without hitting but I think it will make the whole bike appear bigger. I still have the other side make and hope to get more progress pics posted for you guys to look at soon.!

So I hope everybody is having a good Memorial Day Weekend. I am happy to finally post some progress pictures. I decided to try my hand at a wood tank and sticking with the theme I used some rough sawn lumber a friend of mine got from a old man that pulled it out of a old school 60 years ago.

So I tried as hard as I could not to spend the money on these old Persons pedals but I eventually buckled under the pressure and bought them lol. I did however get a great deal on this old art deco stem so that helped.! Hopefully this weekend I can get some work done on the tank.!
