    THE Porcellio

Really cool! Did you know that springer fork style was commonly used around the early 1900's?

    FENIX

Thanks to everyone for the kudos…I wished everything was smooth sailing on this build…but if it were, the outcome wouldn't have been the same. Unlike my other builds this ride is incredibly fun to pedal (do to its 3 speed). It certainly is a head turner!

    FENIX

Those bars were once owned by Kingfish…he kindly sold them to me. They certainly are unusual, and are more appropriate for a motorcycle, (the O.D. is an inch)! A standard bicycle grip or brake lever doesn't fit. It's one of the reasons it overwhelmed Brian's (Kingfish) bike. I had to rework...

    FENIX

Thanks, it took a minute for it to come together. I'm not a big fan of choppers either…but that vintage fork pretty much determined the direction it needed to go in. I didn't want to chop it up for a wide front wheel. I wasn't sure about the final direction either? Initially I wanted to trick...

    FENIX

“Fenix” is a different twist on the name of a mythological bird that regenerated new life from ashes. The legendary bird recycles its own life in the legends of different cultures; Egyptian, Chinese, and Greek. The Back Story This bike had many transformations over the months…I...

    FENIX- Finished!

I had determined to stay home this year and take photos at this one special place that's always intrigued me. Yesterday morning I went by there for my shoot, only to be stopped at the entry by yellow tape, several police cars and officers. An officer alluding, "the place was shut down for the...

    FENIX- Finished!

I had some time today, so I decided to add a little "cush" to the metal pan saddle. i wasn't feeling the bird icon (too Germanic) so I decided to soften the seat with faux gator.

    FENIX- Finished!

That springer left the building long ago…but thanks for refreshing my memory. Now where the heck did I put that springer?
