    FENIX- Finished!

Well, I'm back home from my road trip to Colorado. The first thing I did today, I jumped on was making the stick shift work. I cut about an 1.5" from the seat post off the donor "Beast" and used it as a collar to fit over the SA, welded the shifter to the collar and secured it over the SA post...

Glad you liked the paint color…it's amazing how many OD paints are available…few really match the WW2 OD. I love the direction of your bike.

Thanks guys…Chad a lot has happened even since yesterday; my buddy has finished with all the welding! And Kingfish, yes the light does have a Rocketeer flair. :)

    FENIX- Finished!

Almost everything is now tacked in place. I'm still working on the stick shift (but it works) I just need to finesse the fitting. i also abandoned the front springer for a very cool headlight I found? I'm leaving Sunday for a road trip to Colorado for a week...I've asked a friend to complete...

Rummaging through my parts yesterday, I found this butterfly kickstand and these pedals.

    FENIX- Finished!

I finished the seat post and the gusset for the rear bridge. The middle tube is the actual seat stem. I love the look of saddles that are slammed on a bike, but for practical riding, the seat must have an adjustable height.

    FENIX- Finished!

I'm making headway on a few things; the Sturmey Archer 3 speed came with a handlebar shifter (not my favorite). I decided to make it into a stick shift, using a donor bike fork. With a tube bender and a little finessing I managed to get the shape I wanted. The chrome shift ball, I found...

    FENIX- Finished!

I haven't had much time to work on Fenix but I did managed to get my wheels build and dropouts done. I found a 60T aluminum chainring…I now need to make and add the disc brake supports to the frame.

I too had trouble finding the right "OD Green" paint for my 1942 Huffman military bike. I finally went with AREVOE Olive Drab (34087) spray can paint (I found at my local hardware store???) Its almost a perfect match to those Torrington handlebars.

My SA 3 speed hub arrived yesterday…now I can begin lacing the rim. I also picked up a small steel plate for the seat post support

My most heartfelt condolences, may the love of family and friends comfort you during this time.

    FENIX- Finished!

So yesterday I managed to get most of all the parts cut and tacked. I'm waiting for a few parts I ordered online before I can weld, but I like the direction I'm headed. I just noticed there are 5 donor bikes here to make this one: Micargi, Rollfast, Monark, Beast, and a OCC chopper. This is...

    FENIX- Finished!

Yes Kempracing the hubless was a cool idea and I had a little something, something to add to it to make it really unique…a one of a kind, one that has never been seen or done before. But I rather save it for a later date then me trying to figure it out with my back up against a deadline.

    FENIX- Finished!

Thanks guys for the support. With time running out…it does't allow me to be too wacky in the design department, so I'm going to to keep it simple. Utilizing my existing parts, heres what I imagine.

    FENIX- Finished!

Now that I'm not going with the hubless wheels…I discovered the frame's geometry is now off, so I need to replace the dropouts. I'm in luck…I still have the OCC chopper. I cut these off today and will add them later to the frame. I also found these Monark tank sides with nice jewel medallions...

I found a few more donor parts to play with.

    FENIX- Finished!

Before I had stopped work on "Fenix" last month, I cut 9 inches off the rear end to shorten the wheelbase, widen the rear stays (chopped a Walmart Beast) and cut and repurposed a Schwinn OCC Chopper center stay and its 100mm BB. (see below pic). After accessing the frame last night and some...

    FENIX- Finished!

Well I'm finally done with the wife's projects and I just took a look at what I'll need to do to complete Fenix (too much fabrication with too little time). So I decided not to go with the electric motor and the hubless wheels..I'll just have to wait until next year? With less then a month and...
