Got the new Elgin front hub laced in. Stoked!

Used eBay chain, cleaned and shortened and ready to go.

Chopped fender, taken to bare metal and fit.

They're a bit smaller but they're also a bit narrower so I'm hoping that it evens out. Still have a long way to go so we'll see if I even get to it!

Ran out of time to shop around for tires so I picked up some old stand bys- brickyards. No gaudy logos!

Because at the cycle swap at Long Beach Veterans Staduim I found the front hub to match my rear. Just not sure if I'm going have time to install it or if the same spokes will work.

Didn't have anything cool for a front hub, so I used the one that came with the rim. But I may have jumped the gun...

Polished up some German pedals

Forks shortened and assembled with brass and stainless hardware.

Dog leg crank, solid chainring "polished", bottom bracket in.

Painted up some regular hardware for use as axle adjusters. They might get upgraded but I have less than 24 hours at this point so...

Had this nice thick round fender around for years. I decided today was the day to cut it up!

Spent some time on a run of the mill Persons seat. Now it's totally bare metal with brass hardware.

Interesting. I'm all over the place with my choice of tires at the moment. I have the most badass tires ever for it but they just won't fit in this frame. So with those out of the picture I have to decide. I always end up running the brickyard Schwinn style because they're clean and simple. But...

This is most of the parts that are receiving paint. And that is the same color by the way- looks different in different light. If I like the way this thing turns out I may just go crazy and drop it all off at the brass plater.

I finally splurged on a die to extend the threads on forks. It was necessary for the Monark repro springer to work with the short 20's style head tube. I don't have very many bike-specific tools so this is pretty exciting for me!

Most of the stuff I do is pretty subtle. No over the top contrasting colors for me (although my lady does ride a Maybelline inspired 58 Schwinn (pink with lime green wheels) and I have built a Denver Broncos bike for a friend). For this bike I wanted to play off of the brazing that was all over...
