Let’s talk grips. I bought a set of super comfortable coke bottles from @ifitsfreeitsforme. I cut them open and slid them on with hair spray… which usually works great. But they aren’t grabbing. I obviously want them to stick and not ever move. So… how can I get that? Glue?

Ok, I think I’ve decided. I’m going to get a black V-brake set for $16, and an integrated 7speed shifter with V brake lever for $8. So a decent $26 solution.

This set is only $16… so that’s better. Looks the same?

I need a brake recommendation. The ones Pondo gave me would probably work, but they are breaking due to their age. (I’m still appreciative Dave… I’m just going to upgrade) So… what do you suggest? I can’t go disc. So something that uses two posts and runs on cable. This whole set up is $40...

It was white at the all the wax dried After buffing off the wax, in the sun. Wheels are done, ready to go. Please notice the spike mounted tube reflectors. 12 per wheel. I was going to go with more but I didn’t buy enough. These should be plenty.

Sharpie marker. Hit it black, then blue, then red while the inks are still wet. You may be able to "mix" a color into there.

As a security measure I am swapping out the QR axles for solids. And I cleaned out the hub, packed it with fresh Park grease, and trued the rim.

I’m shooting “Iron” over the original green. So not exactly battleship colors. 😁

It’s a Ross stick shift. I’ve got a Ross T-handle for it, and the console of course.

Kick stand works

Took me all day to tape this ridiculous pattern. I wanted subtle and I got stupid. We’ll see how it looks.

Taking my own builds out of it, there have been intricate detailed builds in the past where they had roughly 4 months (I believe). I’m a believer of quality over quantity. I tend to favor bikes that took a fair amount of craftsmanship and engineering to complete. I believe longer contests...

I’ll finish it for sure. Just not in time for the end of the contest.

Did some kickstand work. It was too tall, so I needed to bring it down about a half inch. So I flattened it on a Press Break and bent it about a 1/2” up. Then cut off the 1/2” excess I still need to test it.

What do you want to know, how I’m going to route it? Down the left side like I did for this bike.
