This bike will have one of the drag forks I built and sold. Unfortunately I built them all to fit the 4” head tube of a Huffy Rail or Schwinn Sting-Ray. The Barracuda’s head tube is just under 6” tall. So… Luckily this is an all stainless set, so I don’t have to worry about messing up...

Body work is coming along. Still lots of fine tuning before I deliver to the painter tomorrow.

A little something different for me… a pre-built wheel. A I was researching my direction, I found a solution in this. I will do some work to customize it, but this is a good solution and saves me time. It’s got 36 10 gauge spokes, so they are super thick and add to a “muscle” look.

Put a black epoxy on the caliper mount.

I forgot to update that all the parts went in for chrome. This going to be a tight schedule at the end.

I think I’m done with the body filler. Next I’ll hit it with gray build primer. First coat should reveal my flaws that will need attention.

1970 Huffy Dragster, rebadged for Coast to Coast hardware.

I'm looking at replacement aluminum jockey wheels for an old Shimano Eagle derailleur. 11T is very common. It's got 10t on it right now. I am wondering if that additional diameter will have that much of an affect? Has anyone tried this?

As I'm mulling over my next build, I have a sprocket dilemma. The bike was using a 1/8" chain for a 3 speed. I'm switching to a 5 speed. I might use the original sprocket. In the past, I've milled the teeth thinner to accommodate the 3/32 chain so I can use a freewheel and derailleur. But...

That's a Huffy Dragster. 1970. (The zero in front of the H on the serial number is the last number of the year, hence 1970) Huffy manufactured bikes for retailers who "rebadged" them, in this case for Coast to Coast hardware. So did Ross, Murray... just about all of them except for Schwinn.
