    MBBO Won’t finish: Savage B.O.B.

I’m converting this bike to a 5-speed with a rear disc brake. So the rear triangle needs more room. And do you see how ridiculously big that lock nut is? I don’t need that kind of space, so I switched it out to a thinner one. The wheel will be disassembled and reassembled later, and I’ll...

    MBBO Won’t finish: Savage B.O.B.

This bike will have one of the drag forks I built and sold. Unfortunately I built them all to fit the 4” head tube of a Huffy Rail or Schwinn Sting-Ray. The Barracuda’s head tube is just under 6” tall. So… Luckily this is an all stainless set, so I don’t have to worry about messing up...

    Midnight Flash

Body work is coming along. Still lots of fine tuning before I deliver to the painter tomorrow.

    MBBO Won’t finish: Savage B.O.B.

A little something different for me… a pre-built wheel. A I was researching my direction, I found a solution in this. I will do some work to customize it, but this is a good solution and saves me time. It’s got 36 10 gauge spokes, so they are super thick and add to a “muscle” look.

Put a black epoxy on the caliper mount.

I forgot to update that all the parts went in for chrome. This going to be a tight schedule at the end.

I think I’m done with the body filler. Next I’ll hit it with gray build primer. First coat should reveal my flaws that will need attention.

Savage B.O.B. (B!tch!n’ Orange Barracuda) This is my only “before” picture as it was sold to me. It doesn’t show it well the picture, but it’s in really rough shape. Let’s see what I can do about that. Here’s what I know so far: It will be orange.

    MBBO BAD INFLUENCE!

Would Bam-Bam be considered my grandchild? Not sure on the rules.

    FOUND Square headlights

Looking for a pair. They do not need to be working.

2024 MBBO & STBO - Are you in?

These numbers aren't inspiring. No one wants to play with me in the MBBO. :(

What happens when you replace a 10t with 11t jockey wheel?

I found some 10T that will work... so we'll never know.

    Coast to coast Murray?

1970 Huffy Dragster, rebadged for Coast to Coast hardware.

What happens when you replace a 10t with 11t jockey wheel?

I'm looking at replacement aluminum jockey wheels for an old Shimano Eagle derailleur. 11T is very common. It's got 10t on it right now. I am wondering if that additional diameter will have that much of an affect? Has anyone tried this?

    Midnight Flash

Body work continues bit by bit with a goal of this Saturday for completion. A small detail that has been bugging me: from the factory, the drilled the mounting holes for the guard mount off center. Me no like. My OCD wouldn’t allow me to look at bolt heads hanging off to the side. That’s...

    I'm all done!

I just finished my entry! In my head. I got around a few last bits of design and engineering bits (for the most part). Now I have to buy more parts... and then start the build on Sunday! November 30th is going to be tight. @Captain Awesome can I request an extension now, or do you want...

To 3/32nd, or to not 3/32nd?

As I'm mulling over my next build, I have a sprocket dilemma. The bike was using a 1/8" chain for a 3 speed. I'm switching to a 5 speed. I might use the original sprocket. In the past, I've milled the teeth thinner to accommodate the 3/32 chain so I can use a freewheel and derailleur. But...

Is there a freewheel hub tap?

Thanks @rickpaulos! Great info! @Pondo I've moved away from this route, but that die may be what you need for your wheel challenge!

    Coast to coast Murray?

That's a Huffy Dragster. 1970. (The zero in front of the H on the serial number is the last number of the year, hence 1970) Huffy manufactured bikes for retailers who "rebadged" them, in this case for Coast to Coast hardware. So did Ross, Murray... just about all of them except for Schwinn.
