What have you been riding lately?

Changed directions with the 1953 Huffman. Slapped it together this morning, have to make a couple minor changes. Bigger sprocket, add a chaingard. I still haven't decided if I'm going to paint it or not.

    UNLIMITED Three's a Crowd (Pleaser).

Waiting on parts. Starting cutting up old bike frames this morning before work. If it don't rain tomorrow I'm going to start laying them out and making temporary jigs for them. Waiting on the rear differential and axels so I can't really do much. I'll be building from the rear end foreward and...

Can I replace spacers for bushings?

Very cool. I'm working on a very similar project and am getting ready to cut new plates to convert to an over/under spring set up also. 1st mock-up with short chopper forks. These are the forks I'm adding the spring portion from 1st photo to. Initial mock-up.

Had a full rain day today, and then THIS happed.

Got really bored again. Waiting on parts for my trike build. It's been raining all day. 5 hours ago none of these parts had met yet. Frame is a 1953 Huffman. With parts from at least 6 different class of bikes. Parts from 1950's, 60's, 70's, 90's, 2003, 2005 2026 and 2018. Need to splice in a...

2 of my favorite road bikes.

Every time I stop into the local bike shop a can't help but look grinning at these 2 child sized road bikes. Until last year I had never seen tiny road bikes. So I spend a few minutes just taking them in. The blue Schwinn is next to a 26" bike for scale. The Fuji is the same size as the Schwinn.

So, after some cyberspace poking around found the Collegiate is a 1939-1941 Elgin. That the Airman break arm is a Spiegel mail order catalogue part for the Airman bike. And I ran out of time and fell asleep before I did much investigation on the Hawthorne.

Went and looked at, but won't be picking them up until Monday. 3 very interesting ones I have to do some research on. One I'm just not sure who made it, no head badge and the quick picture of the serial number was too blurry. 1st up is this 20" skip tooth Girls Hawthorne. 2nd one is really...

"Building a welding JIG first" - design process and thoughts

I'm also working out in my head the best way to get some type of rear suspension, my brain is thinking small air bags and possibly adding spindles and u-joints to the axels so I can have some camber for higher speeds when I break down later and add that 3000w electric motor to it. A neighbor...

"Building a welding JIG first" - design process and thoughts

As of now I've settled on using that frame.just for reference. After all it is a 48 year old single year design bike and other then the rims and spokes I still have everything for it. And I think it will go smoother and have a cleaner finish built from scratch rather than chopping this up and...

    Ready for powder

It's a $25 frame, forks & crank and since it's a "rail" frame I figured it's a good frame to try a couple techniques I've read about. Secondary goal is get it straightened and then convert it into my version of the Yamaha moto-bikes. I'm guessing I can cut out a good portion of the bend from...

New(er) to the forum - pics of the BMX collection

I'm gathering parts now to build something similar to the straight bar bike near the top. And I had a beat up Mongoose like the second photo. And I also got a little sick to my stomach seeing the PK Ripper. I had my original 1st year ripper frame and forks sored in my parents basement for 35+...

Value of my 1969 Raleigh sport 3 Gold Edition.

I have decided to thin the heard so to speak and would like any insight to the fair value or fair asking price I may expect to price it or fair offer to consider accepting. Still have not decided if I want to take offer, set a price or auction it. Only thing I decided was to sell it complete...

    UNLIMITED Three's a Crowd (Pleaser).

Ok, after wasting an hour trying to sketch what was in my head based on the immediately on hand items . I had to build a tinker toy style mock-up to see if it made any sense. This is the rough 1st possible set-up. The wheels shown are all 24". Front is 36h disc rotor rubbed 24x1.75. The rear...
