    Homemade triple tree springer fork.

Got the forks 90% done. They are functional enough for a mock-up. Still need to upgrade the bolts at the pivot points, mostly so they are all the same instead of 4 different combinations of what I had laying around, and install a disc break caliper bracket. And the bike pictured is what I'll be...

1969 Gold Raleigh Sport. I'll need to find the correct seat and grips, looks like it has a air pump holder but no air pump. No key for the fork lock, but I was a locksmith for 22 years and can make a key. I won this at auction and can't wait for it to be delivered. Once I have it I'll take...

    Homemade triple tree springer fork.

I was sorting through bikes and parts yesterday and afterwards I brought some parts inside and decided to see if I could make my own triple tree springer forks and so far this is the result. I'll be upgrading the fasteners at the pivot points once I figure out exactly what I need. Still have to...

What have you been riding lately?

Got her somewhat dressed up. Didn't have a chrome chaingard I liked on her so put the Columbia one one for now. And decided to slim her down some with the 1.75" cream tires and narrower fenders from a Collegiate, upgraded the bars and stem kept the seat but took a torch and mapp gas to the post...

Steering a Vintage Bicycle a Fun way

Weird timing, I'm actually working on the steering wheel and stem right now. Hope to have a few pictures posted yet this evening. That sail is a good idea for me. We've had 3 days of 25mph wind and 45mph wind gusts.

    SHOW ME YOUR BIKE ART!

Was feeling a little crafty this evening. Had everything to put this together. Except a AA battery. Lol.

I'm not there yet. Still way too cheap for that. I got them from a Goodwill online auction. And too vane. I'm going with the heaviest one because it's the prettiest one. Lol. The other two seats are going up for sale to hopefully help offset the cost of the other parts I need for the build.

The seats arrived today. I'm still amazed at how light carbon fiber is. The heaviest seat is the black, red and blue at 201gm, the white is at 180gm, and the gray is at 151gm. All 3 together are lighter then the original seat. Just replacing the seat, bars and wheels have knocked a lot of weight...

Now I have to get his girl all dolled up too. Have to do some more digging in the parts shed for her accessories.

Same, they were heavy and if you came down on both tires at the same time the head tube would snap right off the frame. Happened a few times to me on Huffy's and once on a Raleigh. I've got lots of scars and broken bones from treating those bikes like a BMX bike. I was small for my age back...

What have you been riding lately?

Spent the morning making this Hiawatha sparkle on this nice sunny day. Changed bars, seat, seat post clamp.Replaced the painted chaingard with a chrome Hiawatha chaingard from a 69 Hiawatha, replaced the painted fenders with chrome ones, replaced the chain with a chrome one. And put some repop...

Decided on a color scheme I'm going to match the frame, stem wheels and fork to the new handlebars. Bright red gloss and black gloss with white pinstripes and accents. A neighbor does powder coating at his work and he's going to let me know when I can bring everything in and he's going to show...

Finally was able to spend a bit of time dismantling the bike. And my new extra fancy drop bars came in yesterday. Couldn't believe how little they weigh. The bubble wrap in the box weighed more. Got everything removed without mishap. 5 years of riding it year round especially in the winter, all...

    Got bored.

Been trying to sort and organize bikes and parts the last couple days. And got bored had an hour before I had to leave for work. So I decided to see what I could mash together from the pile of parts I hadn't gone through yet. This is how far I got before I had to go to work. Marin hybrid 700c...
