I'll try to take some pics today, of it's still sunny when I get out of work...

Schwinn Heavy Duti as apposed to Heavy Duty?

I agree that Chicago Schwinn chrome is among the best ever used on bicycles, ever.... but some of those things had stainless fenders, which is even cooler than chrome, imo. I gotta say, i don´t recall having seen a Schwinn CHD with ¨Duti¨ spelled as ¨Duty.¨I´m really not sure why they spend it...

    26" Beach Cruiser Strandie Build

Awesome bike. I built a Worksman fixed with a black/white/red checkers/Vans color scheme. Same tires but I also got the lock-on Vans ODI grips with checkered clamps... I love how those tires corner. Nice bike, though. I really dig it. I'm thinking of swapping in some moto bars on mine, now...

Build for my father : Schwinn cruiser custom COMPLETE

The gaps in gears are very similar in regards to the S2C and the Yellow & Red Bendix kickback hubs. The main difference is that the red & yellow Bendix have a direct drive high and an underdrive whereas the S2C has a direct drive low and an overdrive (like the Bendix Blue Band hubs...). So you...

    Cycle truck spokes or rim

oh, SNAP!!! I had one of these, but i gave the spokes from it to @Bigcam59 a while back. Sucks. You can buy the wheel direct from Worksman; the part number is 7208QA and it should be about $80 plus ship. worksmancycles.com These guys also sell it...

    fat tire rim width??

If you care about what manufacturers recommend, you´ll use 55mm wide rims as the minimum for 4.5¨ tires. If you disregard manufacturer´s suggestions, running too wide of a tire on too narrow of a rim can result in blowouts, sidewall failure, or damage to the rims at the hook. Of course, it may...

adding front brakes to a 50's / 60's Murry bike

I think they look rad..... especially the fronts without the dynamo... (But get the dynamo version anyway.... they´re very useful.)

adding front brakes to a 50's / 60's Murry bike

I´d go with Sturmey drums front and rear, if you´re lacing wheels up anyway.

20" Columbia balloon tire bike value

Cool little bike. Sucked when ppl respray just to resell. Otherwise, awesome score!

Weinmann 810 adjustment on a '67 Schwinn Collegiate

Salmon Kool Stops help a lot... A lot of other good advice on here, too. Steel rims are pretty bad for rim brakes but wheels with contaminated breaking surfaces are the WORST. And vintage pads with hard and glazed rubber are basically useless.

Just another 26" Schwinn Cruiser Build

Do the 2.5s clear the chainstays? Those Giant-built (Taiwan) Schwinn cruisers are awesome; some guys actually prefer them to the Chicago-built canti frames. I´m fan of those forks, but the steerer is too short to run on a Chicago frame without some fab-work, so there ya go. Looks good so...

Odd size Fork Thread & Diameter; vintage

Weird. Any idea when the forks were made, and for which bikes? I´d read about the German and Austrian vintage bikes; if I´ve ever seen one myself, i never knew it b/c i kept the stock headset, i guess. (Old Austrian-built lightweight... i thought it was 1¨?) Here´s some interesting stuff, if...

    Questions from newbie...wheels and tank?

Chuckz´s industrial wheels offer the best price:strength ratio i´ve seen for coaster-only (bomber) klunkers. You might find a better deal on stronger wheels once, if you get very lucky. But chuckz consistently offers these things; you can´t go wrong. He sometimes has Worksman wheelsets with...

    @Bicycle808 does NOT like this.

Odd size Fork Thread & Diameter; vintage

¨Whitworth-less.¨ It´s a shame b/c Brits made a lot of cool machines, but the Whitworth tools and hardware are such a PITA, it kinda ruins the experience for me.
