    CCM Flyte

Good question Riley. Are you buying or selling btw? Without the original curved fork and repaint(?) the value would be much less than original fork and finish. Nice originals 1000 to 2000+ range. This is not that. I'll let someone who's bought or sold one offer an experienced appraisal...

What parts do you always seem to need?

I find I need the parts I just sold or set free when the next stray follows me home. Why did I just sell all 3 of my ape hangers again? Now, where's that chrome 24" wheel set? Oh yeah, out to recycling with the deep fenders, chains and hardware bucket and stack on new duck tail fenders I'll...

FUNNIEST PART OF THE BUILD OFFS...

Hey! I think I resemble that remark. There were many times along the way I thought I should stop, but am going push through and hope the final result makes the choice justifiable. ...and I'm not even done yet.

Other bikes built during the build off?

My Build Off bike DNF. My Flightliner find had a little tread wear, so while I had the wheels off it got a little rub and oil. Tires are old Schwalbe Marathons 1.75" from my parts bin and my Columbia Speedliner. The Speedliner got my free NOS Kinda Flames 2.125s.

    RRBBO13 1nto Th3 Mystic

Hey thanks for the heads up on pics and thumbs up on the bike. I was kind of going for a '30s '40s vibe. 28" rims from Dutch cruiser. 3 speed and front drum brake. The rear tires little bigger. Just stuff I had around. That is an old plunger horn above the headlight.

Well, I've gotten this project this far. Swapped and added thread to a wider fork and went with a wider set offenders from an old Hawthorne. I have been respecting the patina in the fenders. Paint started as dollar store rattle can flat tan and blue. I may try and get the paint finish closer...

    Flightliner Find

Before I picked the bike up I imagined all kinds of things I was going to do to it... Then I got to know it and .... grease, rubber and batteries is the answer. That's all. I don't even want to wash it at this point. Maybe one day a little steel wool and blo and I suspect I'll tidy the hoops...

    Re re reintroduction

Welcome back kid, I recall you riding in to RRB on your Flying O! My, my how you've grown. Maybe give your old pal Bri in RI a nudge to drop by RRB if you're in contact with him. I hope you old RRBers are both doing well.

Thanks Kingfish, I was about to ask for an extension thinking the build off wrapped up tomorrow. I've been hard at it the past few days, but still plenty of kinks to iron out. Life's been hectic and my documentation of the process has been lacking. I'll try and get some pics up tonight of...

    Flightliner Find

This bike has been on my radar for about 7 years since it was posted on Kijiji and slipped away. It was pretty minty back then, but those long years outdoors and under a porch have produced a perfect patina on an all original ride. I took her for a spin last night and she rides awesome with...

    RRBBO13 Ratillac.

Ah, okay I'll just await the reveal. I imagined an interior courtesy or dome light as a possibility. Caddy certainly never scrimped on using the logo on their cars.

Really nice work Falstaff, thanks for the tutorial on distressed paint technique. I'm guessing the headlight may be an 'inside' job?:39:

Thanks KF and OddJob, Too many excuses.... It has come to a stand still. Maybe this being Friday the 13th will get me back on track. I'll aim for some updates by Sunday.

The Columbia is still mine, and the idea of using the fork has crossed my mind. The head tube on the custom frame is a little shorter than the Columbia. Adding threads to the steer tube and the locking fork and bearing cups may pose an extra challenge if I go that direction. I consigned the...

    RRBBO13 1nto Th3 Mystic

I did a mock up a while back when I blew my Columbia five star apart and spread the parts around in a thread called the Columbia Experiment. The Springer and fenders ended up on this frame. It looked alot like the pics you posted. The Columbia is safely out of my reach on consignment ...for...

Not even a bit King. I've mostly just been staring at it trying to figure which way to go with it. This is how it stands today, held together with duct tape, wire and super magnets. I did some fender chopping today. I am trying to only use parts on hand, so for now the fork stays...

Just running errands today on my truest underthunk parts rat. Daily Colson in night mode. Very cool, very local location find.
