    MX seat structure

$30 and you pay shipping from Fort Worth Texas. Galvanized portion is pretty crusty in spots(would be a good pattern). Black metal portion is good quality. Foam is original and trash.

Alright fellers. Here’s that last knife re-shaped and re-handled. My youngest daughter picked up some drift wood from the Gulf and I used it.

Yes his dad was a carpenter. History tells us that He didn’t begin his ministry until about 30 yrs old. So I’d say it’s safe to say that between ages 12-29, he spent lots of time in the wood shop. But there’s also no evidence that He ever used any carpentry skills so yea, I’d go with donkey.

Proud Mary - A throwback Huffman ratrod bike

Y’all are right, the struggle is real. The high road is most always the hardest. Some of us, “of whom I am chief”, sho do ‘ppreciate it. Now back to bicycles, that is a really nice creation you got going on. Those tires, those fenders, that light, those bars, that fork!

    Salvageable?

I’d be a little more aggressive than Capt A. I think I’d wet down (maybe soak) the leather for a little while and then take a smooth face hammer to it, with a flat surface on the underside, working over the bump slowly with many small taps. This will soften and reshape the leather right there...

Downside to riding your good stuff…

Yes sir. I agree. But it still hurts. several years I took my newly painstakingly restored Supergoose to the track in mint condition. Wrecked it and scratched the seat. Not minty any more!

I’m gonna try it. Although my expectations are low….. I popped the metal bar back in the socket this morning and set it aside for another day.

It’s deff not flexy stuff. But I think I will try the plastic version of JB weld. It’s worth a try and better than just putting the seat in the trash. And it certainly fits in the rat rod category!
