    Swingbike Frame $225 shipped

This is a custom build using reclaimed metal and parts. The rear dropouts are spaced for a 5 speed wheel. This frame is very strong. It is in white primer. This should be the last item I need to sell before I can get a better welder; one that uses gas. Seat post is included but not in the picture.

Two layers of carpet padding for the seat. I screwed the vinyl right to the back of the wood. It feels better. Some rattle can blue and it's looking better than I expected. Depending on how fast the paint dries I could have it back together shortly after lunch.

Not yet. I've been busy with work...Almost 60 hours overtime last month. Hopefully tomorrow I can do upholstery and paint. The reunion is next Saturday.

    Custom Swingbike for sale

As you can see it has literally just been collecting dust. There are only a few chips in the paint. The rear dropout extensions could easily be ground off if you wanted to raise the rear. I wanted the bike nice and low.

    Custom Swingbike for sale

I built this several years ago because I wanted to get this idea out of my head and see what it would look like. The idea being a muscle bike theme taken a bit further. The frame was built without a jig. The upper frame is not 100% straight but most people couldn't tell even if you pointed it...

I just commuted 18 miles on a motorized swingbike.

I removed the head to see what the cylinder wall looked like. It definitely has scratching but everything spins freely. It all felt smooth to the touch. Maybe I will try increasing the compression while I have the head off. The pull start broke internally from poorly designed tolerances. I...

I just commuted 18 miles on a motorized swingbike.

Yes it was a mostly flat ride. I had to cross over the freeway and some tracks a few times. The motor is one of those cheap Chinese kits advertised as 80cc's. The pull start is not retracting now. I'll have to pull that off and see what's going on.

I just commuted 18 miles on a motorized swingbike.

I made it back home with much less trouble. None in fact. I bought and swapped out the rear tire during lunch for a much narrower 2.3" tire as opposed to the 20x3 that was on it and took two links out of the chain. I did stop for about 10 minutes on the way home to top off the tank at a gas...

I sold this frame and put everything on a different swingbike frame but this is the picture I have right now.

I just commuted 18 miles on a motorized swingbike.

I just rode a motorized swingbike about 18 miles to work. I nearly destroyed the rear slick. The chain was rubbing the sidewall. I may have to get a narrower tire on my lunch break. The headlight shook loose. I stopped to tighten it. The drive chain stretched enough that it fell off twice. The...

Definitely simple but it doesn't look as nice as yours.

    Limo bike

I have now spent $1.50 on this bike. I bought a turnbuckle for the steering. The drive chain kept coming off the pulley so I bolted on a jackshaft type thing I had made for another project but never used. I also shortened the drive chain to help eliminate slop. I would have removed the...

It rides and it feels just as I remember. Now I need to take it apart for paint and add brakes and a seat.

I imagine they were scrapped. The last time I saw either of them was in 1998. A cousin of mine (the kid on the lap) had the blue bike for a while but I am pretty sure it was scrapped when he moved out on his own. A lot of the grandkids and none of the great grandkids have ever seen them.

    Limo bike

This is the name I remember hearing it called. I have a family reunion coming up and I am recreating a bike my grandfather built sometime around 1978-1980 as a tribute. I think it will be a fun thing for the family to see and ride. As he did back then I am keeping this as low budget as possible...
