I will try to get you a picture later. I really think dimpling the chainstay like you suggested would be a better way to go. I used what I had laying around. The freewheel makes it so I cannot reverse the bike. I will ride it more to look for anything else that may need work, but your idea is...

I have secured the exhaust pipes better since the video was made, but here it is.

Here is the home made gear puller.

It's alive! No real power, but alive! It handles great with the motor. I am trying to upload the video from my phone but it isn't accepting the file type. I had a bmx chain for clearance but it fell off due to some alignment issues. You can see the damage in the top photo. I had to make a gear...

I may still be able to make something work but there isn't much time left and I have other things I really want to try and get done on it.

Thanks! I have others that remain bicycles and I have been careful to not make any permanent changes to the frame. I had to drill a hole in the handlebars for the throttle but everything else is reversible.

I cut up some old bars and started my exhaust pipes.

The thought had crossed my mind. I wanted to steer clear of modifying the frame but your pictures make it look like a good option. If it does look like a problem once running I may do this. Thank you!

I really like how mechanical it is looking. I like the chain tight like this but the chain stay clearance is very tight. I may need to put an idler pulley toward the rear to lift the chain a little sooner. Does anyone make a good chain stay protector that would hold up to this?

    I feel the same way.

I just painted the rear sprocket and installed it. I need to wait for the paint to dry all the way before tighten the nuts and put it on the bike. I think some acorn nuts and rubber hose on the bolt ends would be good to help protect the spokes, but I am happy with it so far.

The problem with the rear sprocket may have just solved its self. I ground the fixed gear to fit inside this spacer I cut from an old air shock. When I bolted it together to check the fit I could see that the bolts will still fit into the spokes. I will rely primarily on the fixed gear threads...

I did some more welding on the motor mount and finished the rear brake system. I coasted down the driveway to try it out. It works great!

Another small detail done or at least roughed in. A laid out Harley style kickstand. The parked stance with the wide kickstand looks so much better to me on this bike than a more traditional vertical kickstand.

I am using an old disc brake hub. I flipped the wheel around. The gear side will be a challenge. I am open to ideas. I have a fixed gear I plan to use to weld the larger gear onto but it will likely spin off under power unless I find a good solution to locking it in place on a regular freewheel...

Thinking about repurposing this old pulley cover from a tiller as a mock primary cover.

I knew it might be stretching the spirit of the rules a bit. I will see how the build goes. I think I might be able to work something out. I will try to make it work but if I cannot pedal the bike by the deadline I am happy to be disqualified.
