    Rat Rod Mountain Biking Trip

Thanks all!!! Yes it was awesome!!!! I think we are going to make it an annual trip if not more often. I did dirt bikes (motorcycle) as a teenager. Did it again when my son was a teen so we both were OK with the off road thing. Brought back lots of riding together memories

    Desert Geo Couch

Thanks!!! The gear ratio is 28/19. Most of the land out there is hard pack but has patches of sand the low gear helps push thru.

    Guitar Players: Show us yours!

Good for you sharing your talents in the praise band!!! I did that for about five years til I move to a different city. I used and still have a Taylor 710 CE cause I could plug into the house system. I did several solos at church on the classical and we miked it for those. Strictly...

    Guitar Players: Show us yours!

Thanks Carl! Yes I built all the jigs and table. The good thing is they can be re-used for future guitars as long as they are the same shape. I have about 80 hours in the jigs, The guitar took about 200 over the course of about a year. Good luck on your luthier shop..... I say go for for it...

    Guitar Players: Show us yours!

A few construction photos of the classical I built in 2007. I have been playing over forty years. I had always traded my player for the next level. The last trade was going to be luthier made. I decided to try myself, it's the best guitar I have ever owned. Penetrates well unmiked and has lot's...

    Desert Geo Couch

While klunking around in the Chihuahuan desert I came across this geo couch. And inspired by Locojoe's well documented exploits of geo couching I decided to contribute to the GC catalog. I could not get the timer to work on the camera so decided to put the bike in the GC rather than myself, hope...

    Rat Rod Mountain Biking Trip

Hi All, My son and I were able to go on a mountain biking trip in Davis Mountain State Park near Fort Davis TX a couple of weekends ago. My son likes to hike and tent camp so we did this along with some biking on a couple of old bikes that I fixed up. We took a trail that was 1.7 miles long...

    Bike Ride Antidotes

Congratulations on your 30 mile day, sounds like fun! Fortunately my wife if very supportive of my riding routine. Great Divide race sounds brutal but good to know the mature crowd is going at it! Great inspiration to a 58 year old, my ride is thee times per week, one hour per ride, fifteen...

    Path Racer

Thanks for the info SK...... I like your gear ratios, hi gear seems pretty tall, I bet you can cover some ground in hi gear in the right conditions I'm thinking over gear ration for when I add the two speed hub. It's a SA with 38% difference from hi to lo.

    Path Racer

Thanks all! Kind responses.... Like your bike SILVERKING, Old frame with aero bars is cool  What's up with the drive train? Looks like a internal geared hub with skip tooth chain and chain ring....What's the gearing like and how's that working for you? What's your typical ride with...

    Old Schwinn?

Thanks Wildcat, The dropouts, bottom bracket, and head tube do not have a serial #. I think it's been repainted and was a pretty good job when redone....possibly filling and smoothing over any #'s. I guess I could sand into these areas to see but kind of hate to mess up the paint. The 54 on the...

    Path Racer

Here is my '63 Western Flyer I made into a would be path racer. I ride it on my local ride/walk/jog path in my home town. The paved path is around a university and I put in five laps which is about 14.5 miles. I usually get this done in just under an hour averaging around 15 mph. Ben doing...

    SHOW US YOUR KLUNKERZ

Here is my Klunker Lite. Started off as a Texas Ranger labeled Murray from the 60's I'm guessing; I added BMX stem and bars, geared it to 40/19, trued the wheels and kept them cause I like the patina, steel wool, and one thin coat of linseed oil. Installed heavy duty tubes and slime and abuse...

    Old Schwinn?

Hi Guys, here is my first bike in a lot of years and I'm curious what it is. It's also a test of first attempt to post photos so hope it works OK. I think it is a Schwinn of some sort but I cannot find a serial # and I have looked everywhere. I think it may have been repainted sometime in its...
