    Rugged Hub Suggestion?

Picture of the hub you want to use? Seams like the right grade of axle hardware may be the only upgrade required.

    Geared Hubs

Does anyone have experience or suggested reading materials or links for internally geared hubs? 8 speeds, internal? Interesting especially here in north Jersey. I find the Schwinn 5 speed frewheel sufficient for most riding but these newer hubs are available with disc brakes, something I would...

    Armstrong - Secret Locking Mechanism

Is there anything unusual about the steerer tube, neck and fork assembly? Is there some Egyptian secret unlocking chamber inside the fork to remove this assembly? Sitting in dry storage for 20 plus years and bought with Buick hub cap.

Yeah, not mine but a direction I want to go. The frame and wheel set is listed in Brooklyn for $350.00 and I love the look too, definitely a source of inspiration!

Yeah, I did. It's in the shop. Difficult to ride but would love to try it in the snow or mud. (difficult as there is indeed a lot of what feels like drag). Would be so much better if the front wheel drive could be engaged and disengaged with a locking hub type interface- possible mod for sure)...

It's everything you think it is; twice as fast and half the effort! Looks to be 100% complete, hardly ridden and 100% original and stored well.

I'll look into this and pay it forward if it comes to fruition. Located in NJ about an hour from home. I can get it today or tommorow. Anyone have any info on this one? https://ratrodbikes.com/threads/bwa-2-wheel-drive-bicycle-21speed-youll-need.112672/

Welding Chromoly Frame With Flux Core

A bit of a hijack here, let me know if this is bad behavior (a term my granddaughter uses). I digress, I would like to make a similar attempt with frames and my gut says brazing would be the way to work with older bicycle frames but I like the idea of TIG too. I suspect the black frame pictured...

    ** The next build off 2024 **

Excellent Information! Having just discovered other Schwinn rims from a package purchase are EA-3 (650-A) opens yet another portal of discovery with (2), tires, yes, you read that right, (2) tire options readily available and the promise of more from Asia. Timely! Another good read for 26"...

    ** The next build off 2024 **

Kind Sir! Would yo upload a front top and additional side view of the tank on this one? Alternatively, if you are not using it, I could give it a good home or possibly rent it from you for a couple weeks...

Kudos man. I have the original fork. If you want it you can add it to your collection of forks for S6 26" wheels.

    Basement Schwinn

Built in May 1979 Sold in 1980. Contoured top tube makes it a 17" frame. It's in great shape and another that will be hard to repurpose. Filled the tubes and around the block it went. Shifting up and down three gears is a bit rough but a great ride.
