What a differance the right tires made! Went on will little to no extra effort given the period and what was likely normal when these S5's were new. So plan A.1 will work for a worst case scenario but I am forging ahead with plan B which would be based on new rims and new multi surface...

I thought I read in the build thread about paint stripper and how it isn't what it used to be. all bicycle, no stance or POV intended, just a general observation and nod to paint stripper not being what it use to be. I'll articulate more better.

So... in relacing the Schwinn S5 rims I noticed the front wheel has inside spokes to the inside and outside spokes to the outside. Determined by the Head In or Head Out. The rear wheel is just the opposite and the crossing of inside spokes over the top of outside spokes shortens the spoke a wee...

Certainly no more methylene chloride, anyway.

Top view (plan view) is great. Seat is so cool and the head set and bars inspirational.
