    Chrome Cruizin

Ape hangers would probably look good on it. The only problem would be cable length. I managed to swap out the mountain bike bars for the cruiser bars and not change any of the cables. So that was a big plus for doing that swap. Ape hangers would take a little more effort. :D

    Chrome Cruizin

Steve, with those cruiser bars and a nice comfortable cruiser seat on it, it really rides nice. It shifts okay for a friction shift. I haven't ridden it a lot yet, but I'm sure it will stay in the small front gear and hit maybe 2 or 3 of the rear ones while I'm riding.  So I...

    Chrome Cruizin

Yeah, the chrome on it is in nice shape. That's really the only reason I wanted to keep it - because the chrome frame looks different. So far I just washed it, but I will spend some time with some chrome polish eventually and really get it shining. The thing is heavy duty too. It weighs a...

    Chrome Cruizin

Okay, how about this. I swapped out the flashy seat for a nice black cruiser seat. Better? Worse?

    Chrome Cruizin

My neighbor gave me 4 bikes that he pulled down from his attic after having them up there 15 or 20 years. I told him I would clean up 3 of the 4 and split the money I got for them with him - and I would keep the 4th one - which was a chrome Murray Baja mountain bike that belonged to his son...

    French Toast

The frame turned out really interesting looking with it flipped like that. Here's a mock up of one possible configuration. I'm sure you have some ideas already though. It should look good once it's done.

    Swap meet bikes and frames

In Buzzy's next to last picture he got a shot of me taking some cash for the mini clone. I'm in the black jacket with no hat on. The boy who wanted the bike is standing next to it - waiting for Dad to pay me for it. I gave him a deal on it since he was all excited about getting it. It fit...

    Swap meet bikes and frames

Buzzy stopped by the swap meet with his daughter and his track bike in the back of his truck. He didn't recognize Paul or me - just the mini clone. Once he saw the mini clone sitting there he walked over and asked if I was Rat Rod Dad. :D It was good getting to meet him in person...

    80s GT PRO PERFORMER BMX

Steve, I use mineral oil from the hardware store or Home Depot. You can put it on sticker glue and let it sit for a while and then rub it with a paper towel or clean cloth and the glue balls up and comes right off. So you might get some of that and try it on the tape glue. It's cheap and...

Uncle Shrink's Mini Me (the mini clone)(video added 3-20)

I did try pulling the front end up once but I figured out that when you put 230 pounds in the center of an extra long bike, wheelies are hard to come by.

Uncle Shrink's Mini Me (the mini clone)(video added 3-20)

Re: Uncle Shrink's Mini Me (the mini clone)(finished pics added) I went over to Paul's house today for a little bike bonding and while I was there we got out the mini clone and I took it for a ride while he shot the video. It actually rides very well and about the only issue I ran into is that...

    sturmy archer?

Kreep is correct. I unbolted my SA rear end without taking off that white plastic cover and so that cover turned the chain as I turned the bolt. So the chain eventually dropped out of the end of the axle. It has a threaded end on it that just came unscrewed. I stuck it back into the axle and...

    Thanks, Uncle Stretch!! IOU1

The Autobike actually shifted fairly well. If you look closely at the derailer, it had a small wheel on it that rode on the outside edge of the black plastic guard in back. The weights actually moved in or out and caused that guard to flex in or out - and as it flexed, it eventually moved...

    87 SCHWINN SIERRA - NEW PHOTOS 3-15-08

Re: 87 SCHWINN SIERRA This one looks good too and your changes already improved the looks a bunch. The black chrome is nice looking too - and different. Another nice find. See what being home all day gets you ... or maybe costs you.

Hooch, I actually owned this Autobike at one time. I spotted it on the Dallas CL and Steve bought it for me and kept it until I made a visit up there. This one had weights on the rear wheel and as you went faster the centrifugal force moved them up and that moved the rear derailer over and...

Paul went the other way on his 7 speed Sachs rear end. He put a smaller rear gear on that one. So he said he still had the larger gear he took off of that one if I wanted it. So that may be an option too.

Thanks for the heads up. I know I have a 40t but maybe I need something even less, huh.

    Thanks, Uncle Stretch!! IOU1

I guess I could have made you feel a little better by saying the ground is white here too - and what you were seeing is just the reflection of the green bike on the white snow!

    Thanks, Uncle Stretch!! IOU1

We had some white stuff on the ground down here a while back. Hummm, let's see - I think it was December, 1989 if I remember correctly. We've been in mowing mode already now for several weeks - which also means allergy and hay fever mode too. The drug stores love it, though.

    superbe find

Here is a shot of something similar I put together a while back and I think yours would look good done something like this too. This one used a single speed coaster brake wheel set on a mountain bike frame. So no brake cables or hand brakes to worry about. But I think if you stripped off...
