    1960's Öglaend Strada

Pretty much what I thought about doing. :D The problem is that the screws/bolts are normal ones, I can't see them not getting loose unless they're overly tight or the locking kind. I'll see what I have to do with them. But there's another issue. I tested the fork today on another frame, I got...

    1960's Öglaend Strada

More bike building coming up today. Next step is decals on the frame and rims. And testing some parts and what not. Nobody has answered the question I posted before, so I'll ask again, how tight should a springer fork be set? My logic says it should not be overly tight or its gonna be a like a...

    Felt Torch Chopper

Now this is a really cool bike! There's a ton of chopper designs that just don't "speak" to me, but this one is awesome! Flame paint rarely works, not my cup of tea in general, but here it just has the magic. :D What's interesting is the Sakae brand stuff, was it the crank? Because Sakae is the...

    1960's Öglaend Strada

A quick question to those of you who know better, I have never before installed a springer fork on a bike. So my question is, how tight should the bolts be on which it should pivot? Any tips? I don't want to screw this up, so help me out. :D

    1960's Öglaend Strada

My order from Classic-cycle.de arrived today. Neatly packed and delivered to home. Well worth the postage which isn't too much from Germany to Finland. Oh boy did I get some cool stuff! The pics aren't showing everything, but speaking of details, the next bike is all about details. :D It seems...

Cool. :D I got that same badge in black, not in use yet... Ruff bicycles if I remember correctly. :)

Neat! :D Anyway, all dynamos I've had (which was ages ago since I haven't had one in use for a long time now.) have been the usual, need to pull the whole thing by hand to use it. I remember thinking about it already when I was kid, they're unpractical as heck. Would be really cool to make some...

    1960's Öglaend Strada

I thought about it too, and came to the conclusion that its better to not wear loose pants while riding. :D The only way to really find out is to try. But now that I think of it, I can't remember once that my foot would have been anywhere near the chain guard.... Unless I fall over on my right...

    1960's Öglaend Strada

Glad to hear that. ;) The chain guard still needs a paint job. I thought about if I should leave it as it is, but its aluminum and I want the only metal colors to be chrome, brass/gold chain and possibly I will paint the saddle springs as they're mostly quite rusty or nearly wiped out chrome...

    1960's Öglaend Strada

More spikes. This time just for the aesthetic reasons. I will use the idea of having them to hold the skirt guard again of course. I'm trying to not over use them, there will be some on the fenders and chain guard and that's it. :) I got some really nice material for the saddle mod, 600mm x...

Hold the phone! Does this contraption make the dynamo work using a break lever?

Thanks. :D I'm a metalhead, not just a listener, I've played drums since 1994... Do I need to tell more? :D I got these same spikes on a belt, on a battle jacket / vest and so on, 1+1 to put them in good use on bike stuff.

So much imagination and cool stuff on this thread. :D These creations make my bikes look bare bones and keep it simple stupid in comparison. And you're giving me ideas. ;) Here's something little I did with the previous one, I had some spikes lying around and they make perfect holder for the...

Suspended banana saddle, how to make it happen?

Yea, even the hardest of springs can get tired with age. :21: /off topic.

    1960's Öglaend Strada

The replies on suspended banana saddle thread have been very interesting and gave me some ideas. I checked out saddles to cannibalize today and I got a pile of them, two age old Lepper saddles, both in need of extensive repair, or some other use. Both have the base and springs in working order...

Suspended banana saddle, how to make it happen?

So simple, only one spring on that one. :D I'm gonna post more about this on my Öglaend build thread.

Suspended banana saddle, how to make it happen?

That conversion of the fork, that's neat! Someone with bit of metal working skills could easily make one of those. I'll keep this in mind. Sandman, very interesting design, looks like a base of some vintage saddle just bolted on. What if the two above ideas were combined in one? :D That idea...

Suspended banana saddle, how to make it happen?

Very interesting, keep talking, if you guys bump into any pictures or anything, just post it. :D The most sure way of making it DIY what I can think off is to build it from scratch. I should take a better look into this as I got plenty of old bike parts waiting to be used for what ever project...

    1960's Öglaend Strada

I keep going back and forth with selecting the chain wheel... But I made my mind. I tried to get the neat pentagram 46T straightened up and with my primitive tools, I don't have the patience to keep on hammering away. Perhaps I should take it to work and fix it there and use it for something...

    Homemade Tools

Great idea! Something I thought about would be to put a ruler with a rubber band on the fork, then take measure from the lock bolts of the axle to adjust it in the center, then push it as close to the rim as possible and add something to the sides, like the zip ties above. ;)
