    Typhoon klunker build

I know it’s just a mock up but seeing that front tire on backwards just drives me nuts.

    S1LVERADO

    Definitely the loaf seat.

The bikes I ride most are tallbikes, 1 is a coaster brake bike, the rest have a single front caliper brake or cantilever brake or V-brake. I often consider what I would do on them if I lost a chain or broke a cable on a fast downhill since my foot cannot possibly reach the tire without a full or...

Mine are solid aluminum, if they were steel it would be heavier than the handlebar!

It definitely turned out better than I expected. I just bought “Hunter Green” in Rustoleum brand. Even though it turned out great I was *not* impressed with the paint, it went on incredibly thin and I had a hard time even covering the red oxide primer. Someone suggested a lighter primer but I...

I don’t worry about it on my cruisers, but on something I plan to take on trails and downhill regularly, I want a backup plan as much as just more braking control.

Freeliner with 3 x 1 gearing is GO!

They’re made of asphalt at this point.

Yeah, the modern Mongoose are definitely more “flower like.”

Freeliner with 3 x 1 gearing is GO!

If I was running more brakes I could compete, but I’m done now… also I upgraded my pads, like a complete .....!

I think in the 80s it really caught on to call them goosenecks, I’ve never been a fan of that term since it’s slang.

I am struggling to find 1/2 pedals that I like for this build, then I noticed on my Amazon app that I ordered a second 3 piece crank adapter that will show up soon. Maybe I drunk ordered it. 🤷🏻‍♂️ Anyway, will I now run a 3 piece crank?

    That’s a sweet frame.

Freeliner with 3 x 1 gearing is GO!

I just upped the ante by installing a Chang Star lever with a Lee Chi caliper on my bike.

Okay, I decided I wanted to have a simple front brake for extra brake control and a backup if I lose the chain. No, you’re eyes are not deceiving you, that’s a Chang Star lever and a Lee Chi caliper. I think it’s minimal enough that it doesn’t detract from the simplicity of this build.

I thought about your build when I was in my backyard earlier looking for some pedals. Mongoose copied those wheels…

    That’s a cool stem.

    Haroing

A Haro with post mounted brakes and sealed bearings in the BB would have absolutely had a 1-1/8 threadless fork.

When I built my 1950 Columbia back in 2010 a bike shop found an old seat post for me and the owner told me about the spacer I could get at Lowe’s. I’ve used that trick on a lot of bikes since then.
