It took me a couple minutes to realize you were talking about the factory welds. I quit concerning myself with initial build quality many years ago because 1) I build junk from junk (no high end stuff) and 2) I’m a big believer that form follows function. I’m just glad it’s strong. Haha

I have made a few diamond frames into faux 26” BMX bikes but the common thread is that they are all too big, this is a smaller frame and should do nicely.

Took it apart. It didn’t fight too hard. The front chainguard mount broke off while removing the screw. I planned to remove those tabs anyway. Going to remove the cable loops for the shifter cable.

Thanks. If I’d built it back in 2014 when I started this tread my son could’ve ridden it and looked really cool, but now he’s 14 and bigger than me.

Decided to pull the frame out this morning and actually do something with it. The rear rear triangle was from a donor Murray girl’s bike, as well as the new bottom bracket shell, and fork. It’s all pretty straight forward.
