MFP Pursuit - missed the deadline

Was planning on sneaking a few minor jobs in while at work the last couple of days. Over 100mm of rain on the weekend meant I came back to the workshop to find it had suffered a bit of flooding, 50mm at least. Meant on top of the usual tasks I’ve had to clear everything out and replace some...

MFP Pursuit - missed the deadline

The movie was on TV last night. Had to watch the opening sequence before sending my boys to bed. This is the inspiration for this build.

MFP Pursuit - missed the deadline

Slow progress, but it is looking like a bike now. Don’t think I’m going to get enough time to complete ‘the vision’ but should get most of the way there. Looked back over the thread and it seems I haven’t pointed this out. I widened the rear dropouts and added a disc mount to the frame. I...

MFP Pursuit - missed the deadline

Now the paint is (mostly) finished its time to assemble. This is the other ‘prop’ bike not the build off entry, but I wanted to get some parts out of the way so I can get the Pursuit model assembled. The front hub motor is working on this, but it was a bit hairy riding around without any kind...

build off 14 first try, calling it warbonnett

This thing is all kinds of awesome. Great work.

MFP Pursuit - missed the deadline

I struggle to get past a couple of hours!

MFP Pursuit - missed the deadline

I did consider trying to put some flares on the mudguards, (the car above has them) but figured they probably look a bit naff and scrapped that idea. Maybe if I had skills like TRM it could have worked.

    IGH on a fully?

It was the solution for pedal bob back in the late 90s. Constant chain length meant pedalling didn’t affect the suspension characteristics. Biggest problem was that when you stood up the suspension effect dramatically cut back because your weight shifted from the saddle location to the bottom...

    BLACKBIRD (Skylark Convertible)

    That colour/patina mix looks great.

MFP Pursuit - missed the deadline

Small progress. Hope I’m going to make it. By now you should be able to see where it is headed

    IGH on a fully?

If you are running a coaster brake pedalling backwards might play havoc with a tensioner. They are typically only designed to work under forward chain tension while having slack in the chain ‘undrneath’ when you pedal backwards it tensions up the other side of the chain.

MFP Pursuit - missed the deadline

I dropped (pressed) some headset cups into the frame so I could fit up he forks for the next phase. Messed up somewhere as there wasn’t enough steerer tube to fit the lock/top nut for the headset. Solution: take to the head tube with a grinder and shorten it by about 4-5mm. Messed up the paint...

    "Dumpster Mutt" Rat Rod

    She’s a keeper!

    BLACKBIRD (Skylark Convertible)

I’d go patina on the frame and flat black on the fenders and tank. Blend of patina and rod. Edit: sorry. I really need to check what autocorrupt has done to my typing before I submit.

MFP Pursuit - missed the deadline

Windy enough to blow the dog of his chain here last couple of days so I painted in garage. I normally paint outdoors and was surprised just how much paint didn’t land on the frame(s). After I vacuumed the floor to clean some up before walking it through the house

MFP Pursuit - missed the deadline

No pics, but I got the frame and forks sanded ready for paint. The frame had a dent in the down tube that needed filler and the forks needed some filler where the brake mounts were ground off. If I’m lucky I’ll get a chance for some primer tomorrow. Also playing with a prop bike for the photo...

    "Helen Wheels" : ...Farewell, Good Summer...pg 7

Great work on the headbadge. I tried that last year for the first time. Extra tip: if your ink transfer doesn’t work fully you can touch it up with nail polish. It will protect the aluminium from the acid.

The Goose - late swap to the INTERCEPTOR

Don’t think this one is going to get finished. Despite not having a permanent job for the last 6 months (by choice) I’ve been working plenty and not finding time for building. Now I’ve started permanent work there’s even less chance. Still going in class 1 though.

The Goose - late swap to the INTERCEPTOR

Going to have to call this one. Not going to make the deadline this time. Despite not having a full time job for some time, had plenty of work and now have a permanent role. Class 1 build is still happening.
