    LITTLE TOAD! RRBBO#14 Class 2. I'm out. :(

Does this mean you’re skipping north of the border? Sounds like a lot of work moving that far without a truck. Still, good luck with the move. And hope you get a nice shed out of it.

    The Streamliner

Coming from a mostly mtb zone, kick stands are a no-no. Just lean it against a tree. Guess there aren’t many trees to lean against in a salt lake though are there.

I hope this is the last of the distractions! Back to build off...

    Stepping back in time

I found the local bike shop was able to tap some more thread onto the forks. It took a couple of shops. Seems that not many bikes need threaded fork re-tapping nowadays. Also seems the forks are possibly a 24” size which I didn’t notice until I put a wheel in it. Dug out some bits and pieces...

    QU14K-SILVER

For what it’s worth, my current BO bikes are planned to have electric assist, but it won’t be primary means of power, otherwise it will be illegal here.

Rock Shox Quadra rebuild CHEAP - done

That's great. I rescued some Manitou 2 forks a while back and spend the $75Au to get new rubbers. If I had known this ....

MFP Pursuit - missed the deadline

I’ve put some filler around the fork weld and a dent in the frame then sanded some, but been a bit distracted from the build. I’ve been meaning to reassemble this old e-stay mountain bike, so finally got started. Then today i picked up this Speedwell GTS in need of some lovin. I’m going to...

    C.C.M. (Configuration & Change Management)

Like that treatment. Will have to stick it in the memory bank.

MFP Pursuit - missed the deadline

Got the welder back in action and gave the grinder a workout tidying up my welds and shaping the parts for the forks. Forks are almost there, just need to tweak the brake calliper position and crimp the fork leg a little to clear the rotor.

Need some help with new fork

Just had a look at this thread as I'm building similar style forks myself. Some images on the web have the rockers inside the fork legs, but that would mean you would need to spread the fork legs a bit to make the spacing 100mm between the rockers - probably the method I'll use.

    Winter build off?

    But it’s winter now!

AlumiNaughty: 1935 Wards Hawthorne Duralium, Finished!

Great build. Love the fork/bar combo with the vintage frame.

MFP Pursuit - missed the deadline

Spent some time today fabbing up a top plate/bracket for the fork. Then when I tried to glue them together with sparks the MIG wire wouldn’t feed. I need to either replace the gun liner for the MIG or give myself a crash course in TIG. Either way, what was meant to be half and hour of welding...

Meet Virginia, Smooth Bahama Blaster, Lake Loafer, Pirate's Princess, Whiskey Girl

Its the same frame I’ve got for my build. Bought mine as a frame only, liked it because of the twin top tube.

    Trans-MIG-RaT...RidE ViDeo ! Pg 15

Was thinking a plain background would help the flames stand out. Looks like a great bike and a great day for a cruise!

A reasonable guide for the tension is to get a well built wheel with similar length and gauge spikes and give them a pluck. Tension so that your new sookes make a similar tone. You can get a tension meter for sookes, but unless you are building lots of wheels it’s probably not worth t.

    Weather Report

It’s been a bit ordinary in the last week. Cold, wet and windy (at least cold for us). Yesterday was cool calm and cloudy, but today was a pearler. Sunny, warm, no wind. Couldn’t spend the day in the garage, so had to grab the kids nd hit some local mtb trails. The recent wet weather and a bit...

MFP Pursuit - missed the deadline

Thanks. I’m just making it up as I go along. Preferring to buy tools and scrounge parts. Managed to pick up the big drill bit (15/16”) today as runout stock which was good, probably on runout because it’s imperial! I’m sure it’ll come in handy later as well somewhere.
