How about a build using as starter material something every one can pick up at Goodwill or might find in a dumpster...a couple of ideas.. Huffy Cranbrooks or other box store cruisers Build Only Girls frames builds (Don't have to end up that way..) 80's 10 speed build 70's- 80's three speed...

Putting all the top bikes together in some sort of organized format would make an excellent coffee table book. Especially if you could include some shop scenes and interviews with the builders... As far as a vote, I dunno.. but it would be a good way to honor the builders from past years.

At least you have a good selection of parts for the new frame! Let's see that break close up and clear! Scary stuff when a frame won't stay together. The folder has a resemblance to a swing bike...maybe it's time to make it one.

Pretty much any used bookstore will regularly have 70's how to fix bikes books on the shelves...They don't apply to some of the modern stuff like threadless headsets or cartridge BB's but otherwise they are good. Look for one that tells you how to build a wheel or at least true one and it...

I've got one I ride on a regular basis... No fenders, guards, etc....and it is pretty light! A 700 tire fits the front with no fender..I need to see if I can do the same in the back.. Surprisingly decent bike for a box store junker.

I'm building up a junker $5 Genesis V2100 to be my winter /rough service urban bomber...I dunno if the full suspension will be a good or bad thing..but it is definitely getting as cushy a tire as I can find. I did have a different cheap suspension MTB and it was great for our bomb zone streets...

Unfortunately the forks have a couple dings in the curved area at the top. I dunno about a rearward bend ....I'll have to get a rake measurement for that particular fork and measure it out. In any case it still is very functional. I've never owned a "real" BMX before.. and riding a good one...

I'm probably going to try it out for a bit and then decide if I have room to keep it. I fell in love with it at first sight. Do you think that paint is original? It is a blue metallic and there are some stripes in the chainstays. It's about time I found a good BMX.. Loads of junk around here!

Title says it all... I saw the wheels and said...I NEED those... but the more I look the more components I like.. BB really looks Schwinn, electroforged style. but headset area is welded (very nicely).. Any ideas, guys?
