    FAVORITE PHOTO VOTE

Man..that's as tough as voting for the bikes. I have it narrowed down to 4, 13, 19, 23, 32, 38 ,39,42,49,56,and 60. They all capture the feel of the bike without a lot of background to take your attention away from the star of the picture. I'd like to know more abut how the picture was taken...

    My 1st rat

I like it! Only thing it needs is a multi speed hub and it'd be a go anywhere anytime bike. I'm not convinced the orange goes with the red....but mismatched parts are what rats are about. Personally I'd be swapping in some dark blue or black ones or chrome. Your orange rims are way too good...

    Craigslist nightmares and dreams...

Never trust a clown, especially one selling his bike. :shake::crazy::rofl:

    JC Higgins Skip Tooth

The line made by the front fender brackets, the white stripe on the chainguard, and the rear fender suggest you my need to tweak that fork just a tiny bit. Or it is an optical illusion I am being fooled by......? That paint scheme is just crying out for a Mayberry police badge somewhere..

    Only in Indiana...

It reminds me of my never to be finished Pinto pickup truck I was driving in 1982. But at least I didn't have any crazy unfilled door openings. I hope the tubing we see is something stronger than conduit. :13:

    Rat Rod Bike Trailer............ DONE!!

For a second I thought you had purchased an old Harbor Fright trailer..but I see the side rails appear to be rectangular tubing, making it far superior. You may want to install a skid of some sort at the back for when you leave an inclined driveway. At the very least make sure no wiring or...

Refinishing a GT Stem Plate ?

You could paint the plate trying not to get too much buildup on the letters, then sand in one direction with a fairly fine grit paper on a hard block. The idea is not to sand the deeper parts of the headbadge. I've heard you can use vaseline to coat just the lettering and paint, then wipe off...

    My DumpsterMountain Bike!

Agreed... The difference between the box store mountain bikes and the real brand name quality ones is like night and day. However you also have it right...they make great around town riders, especially for us oldsters who can't take as much jarring as we used to. I could tell you about a parking...

    What are these rims?

If that is Olive Drab and you are certain it is original paint, search over at the forums on G503.com and you might find those wheels.. I am thinking handcart, possibly. You didn't also find a very simple trailer that looked homemade anywhere around where the tongue didn't have a hitch of any...

What do you use for a final clean of a bike?

There is a spray instant wax thing I have gotten from the Automotive section in the big box stores.. Quick Detail or similar.. Shoot a little bit on a soft rag and go to town wiping off the fingerprints. I used to use it a bunch on my old blue truck, did a panel at a time while I was waiting...

Who are you guys using for mail order /online source for hard parts ??

All my parts bikes seem to be taken out of the same riverbed and were all worked on my the guy with the metric pliers and One Size fits none hammer/chisel set. (That's after they were ridden to Chicago and back by a 300 lb gorilla, with every drop of lubrication replaced by sand, and nothing...

Who are you guys using for mail order /online source for hard parts ??

Another quick question.. What parts do you always run out of and need to stock up on? For the bikes I am working on I think axle parts , cones, bearings, nuts are always in short supply, and every bike needs a good chain.

Who are you guys using for mail order /online source for hard parts ??

I'm starting to get into repairing the run of the mill bikes mainly for friends and the local bike rescue organizations So far everything has been big box store thrashed mountain bikes and old ten speeds..(How Sears and Wards ever got so broke with all the bikes they sold I dunno..) If I keep...

    My DumpsterMountain Bike!

Pull up your picture in Photobucket, on the right side of the pic underneath the ads there are 4 lines of code....Go to the last one, and click on it. It should go yellow and say copied. Now go back to your post you are making. Put the cursor where you want the pic, type CONTROL V (Control is a...

    Lets Get Creative on Shipping.

The small stuff is expensive to ship,at least that is my experience with shipping via USPS daily. You have to see how you can keep under the size and weight limits, (don't exceed 24 inches or 12 inches if it is close to that size. )And explore all the options with priority and priority flat...

    My DumpsterMountain Bike!

Co-op's are great! We have a couple of Bike rescue organizations here in my area and I like to donate a bit more than they ask --there are a lot of folks who don't have anything to donate when they get something from the coop. I just got a bunch of parts for a similar bike I got from my local...
