Well, I got this sad looking late 50's JC Higgins as part of a package deal of bikes and parts... Rough was an understatement. what really worried me was the skinny seatpost. No way would that hold me. Luckily A friend found a nice piece of cold rolled steel in my garage the same diameter...

I'm trying to find someone that sells full fenders fat enough to cover a 26"X3" tire. I'm looking to add fenders to my Porucho... Any leads or ideas would be a help

Yes, it makes the noise no matter where the shifter is, as long as the hub is in 2nd it's noisy. The noise only shows up when pedaling, and only in this one gear.

I have a 4 speed shimano internal hub on one of my bikes and 2nd gear is making a clattering noise. Is this a normal thing with the 4 speed hubs? The 3 other gears are pretty quiet...

if I didn't have one already... seriously, that's a heck of a deal

I've had frames and parts powdercoated and have been quite pleased with the results. It's also much more durable than my other option (spray can in the backyard).

Another thing you may want to consider is switching from traditional spiral wound cable housing to SIS straight cut,no compression housing. It'll make the shifts a bunch cleaner, especially if you are using a bunch of it.
