I posted this in "how to" and got almost no responses so I thought I'd try here. Has anyone tried mounting a 3" tire on a 4" (aka Mongoose Dolemite) rim? I'd try it myself to find out but I'm not in a position to get to the basement workshop- literally! (recent knee surgery)

I know I've seen some daring souls stretch out a 26x2 1/4 tire across a fat bike rim, but has anyone done it with a 3"tire? Just wondering how it would look and what the longevity is...

one of my first builds was a 26" cruiser with 24" wheels and 24x3"tires, back 10 years ago!

That sounds about right, that's what I usually pay.

I am Digging that fork on the Basman, Although it looks like a tight fit for the tire at the rear...

Also keep your eyes peeled for used Mongoose Beasts. I've seen the entire bike go for as low as $65

I got the pair I use on the Double Barrel from 3G. I believe they sell just rims too.

also check Facebook for Chad Morgan. He makes kustom bars. I've used his bars before, a-1 stuff

there are actually 2 sizes of stems like that. One is 22.2 mm and the other is 21.1 mm. similar but not identical...

I've heard if you fit the inside with a hardwood dowel it strengthens the post. I've tried it and so far so good.

ah well, at 6' 1" i need something a little "above average". Nice looking bike though
