    Craigslist nightmares and dreams...

Can't remember ever seeing one quite like this...$350 seems just about square too. Western MA.

"I can take use your old, unwanted bikes..."

Another response to the ad...I really like this mid 80's Diamond Back as it reminds me a lot of my first mountain bike, a 1986 Accent. This Mongoose was also in with the deal, and may end up being the donor bike for my build-off project ( sparing the 3speed Columbia at least for a time)

    Tin Roof Rusted

I’m parting out an old Columbia Torpedo if you want anything. I’d love to get as much of the bike out to the right projects. Crusty fenders.... torpedo light still intact?

    Firebolt

You say not so interesting.....I'm very interested.

    What size fork?

If you like how it rides, but just want to change the look of the bike, you should be able to track down the axle to crown measurements and match them to what you have. Going longer will, other things equal, slow down the steering but add stability and soften the ride.

Rat Rod Bikes Build Off #14?

I was working it out, but the balloon popped . The squeaky noise was driving the dog crazy anyway. I’ve got a couple of days to get it sorted.

The short rear/ center should make it super easy to wheelie, even if it's a little less stable at speed. Are you going to extend the seat-mast above the top tube at all or are you going to take it away from the stand-over to get enough seatpost insertion?

My approach is a little different... edit....I'm not locked down on the color scheme yet...

    Chainwheel screws.

Is it the correct BB spindle for that frame? It wouldn't be terribly expensive to get the correct part in there to build it right. Those chainring bolts and spacers somehow end up being really expensive for what you get.

Of course that means you run out of time earlier too. Being the pro-crastinator that I am, I'll gladly take that time on the back end. Don't know about all you amatuer-crastinators.

"I can take use your old, unwanted bikes..."

That's the title of my craigslist ad. Pretty straight forward, right? Today Don replied. He found these two hanging in the rafters of his garage, left by the previous owner of the home....17 years ago. He never touched them until this week when he needed a repair done. The Schwinn is a '69...

    Chickie's Swinger Butterfly Hunter

She's thrilled...BUT...she's still on me to get the butterfly cage on and provide some way to carry the butterfly net. Not that her mixed reaction is at all unexpected...she is going to turn into a woman one of these days and there's nothing I can do to stop it.

    Chickie's Swinger Butterfly Hunter

Assembled and working well! I still owe a couple of accessories.... Would have been fun had I gotten this done for that muscle bike build off.

    color combo opinions/ideas?

I like almond...a bit darker than cream. I actually really like the color of the wood bench it's sitting on. True white works really well if it's a very sporty bike, but not on a relaxed cruiser.

Weird, old, 1970s era Shimano recumbent that I found on Google Images.

Mountain bike forums have discussions of tuning shocks for different compression rates depending on suspension design so that you can run your desires amount of sag while using full travel without wallowing in the low-mid stroke...still want the bike to feel lively, right. On these forums we...
