Braided steel on the bars is an awesome trick! There's a 36er at one of the shops I go too. Not sure I'd have one, but truly a unique feel to that ride.

That Surly 1X1 frame, besides really putting Surly on the map, was kind of an important bike in the development of the sport as it outgrew it's racing roots. Good find!

Looks like this... There is a lay-back seat post on order....we'll see how it looks. I always liked the look of the tread pattern on these tires. They've been hanging in the shop for almost 20 years.

Might really help to know the application and budget. If you want super tough get a trials or mountain bike rim. If you’re building a cruiser you might want to avoid the price and maybe the look of cut out rims.
